Is there ANY nutritional value whatsoever in a lunch made of a Caramel Frappuccino and Chocolate Chip Muffin from Starbucks? Not that I would EVER consume such a meal, but IF I did, are there ANY vitamins or minerals within those items? Or even fiber? Or calcium? There’s always calcium, right?

Well - I was just wondering, I’m going to go back to eating my Muffin Salad. And drinking my Caramel Frapaccino Spring Water. Okay?

I’d say you have your dairy and grain groups well covered. You can extract the letters “M-E-A-T” from “Chocolate Chip Muffin”, so it must be part of the meat group. I believe that chocolate copmes from the mocha bean, which is a fruit, and you have the “sweets” category well in hand.

    I’d say it’s healthy.

    Caramel…chocolate…mmmmmm.

Nutritional value. Yup, I’m certain it’s there. Really. Trust.Me! :-)

  3. Busy Mom Says:

Possibly the perfect meal. All of the basic food groups are represented: sugar, salt, fat and caffeine.

  4. Nicole Says:

I think I read somewhere that Frapps and muffins, when consumed together, are fat, calorie and carb free and chalked full of every vitamin known to man! So….it is really too bad you skipped the muffin and frapp for the salad and spring water. Blech! ;)

  5. GranolaSpice Says:

Did you have “power” added to your Frap? I’m not sure if they even do that anymore, but I remember it being the powder equivalent of a powerbar, so you could feel extra good about slurping away on your frap! Oh, and the muffin? Part of a balanced breakfast…or lunch, but you get the idea!

These comments rocked! And to think you have so many nutritionists who visit your site . .

  7. Sweety Says:

Chocolate stimulates happy feelings I’ve heard, or doens’t that count for nutrition? :)

  8. Hula Doula Says:

I want one. I don’t care about the nutritional value. I so want one now!

  9. Michelle Says:

Of COURSE caramel Frappuccinos have nutritional value. You put cinnamon on it, right? And the whip cream? Hello, dairy! And the bigger, the more value.

  10. Lee Says:

And the Muffin has flower (fiber) eggs (protein) and sugar (carbs). If all else fails, take a vitamin after lunch…

  11. Jessica Says:

Because I have too much time on my hands and I am so Google’s bitch: http://www.starbucks.com/retail/nutrition_info.asp

I wouldn’t recommend going there, though. You’ll find the evil truth about yummy muffins-but not about the Choco Chip ones. As for the Caramel Frappuccino’s, I’ll figure you had the whipped cream and got the Medium, errr Grande. It has Protein AND Calcium:
    Protein (g) 6
    Calcium 20%

Puhleeze! Calcium and fiber all over the place with that one, chickie! (That’s what I tell myself about all the cream cheese on my honey wheat bagel, too. So it must be true.)

  13. Amy Says:

Sounds like a perfectly well balanced lunch to me…and yummy too!

  14. laura Says:

calcium — it does a body good.

  15. Anne Says:

Great, now I want a muffin salad for lunch.

I think I’m justified in totally blaming you for the loss of any chance I was going to eat healthy today. Right? Right?

  16. Mir Says:

Mmmmmm that sounds good, and yeah, what jen said, all kinds of nutrients happening in there underneath the 10,000 calories for real.

  17. Fraulein N Says:

Um, there is water in the frappuccino. And didn’t I just hear on the news that chocolate is good for your heart? Boom, there ya go.

  18. Debby Says:

Everyone knows that frappuccino is made of water (need 8 glasses a day) and frappa - which falls somewhere in some food group. Muffins have a fiber of some kind - I am kinda sorta sure of all this because I am a nurse.

  19. Shiz Says:

Lee is so cute: flower. Your muffin has flower?

It sounds like your imaginary, pretend lunch has some fibre, some protien, and LOTS of feel-good-now. I LOVE the feel-good-now.
