The Perks of Moving OR Gluttony

Since Thursday of last week, we’ve been “moving”. That officially gave us the right to boycott cooking or food preparation of ANY sort. “We’re moving. We don’t know where anything is. Let’s go buy some BBQ.” Of course, the kitchen was actually all in place by Wednesday night, but no one but me needed to know that. This mentality was also convenient since we wanted to feed anyone and everyone who helped us in any way over the three days. I’m not even cooking for my husband or son, why should I cook for anyone else?

Just so you can see what you were missing, here is the assortment of food we ordered over the weekend. Keep in mind we did not EAT all of this ourselves, not that we couldn’t have if we wanted to, we just didn’t.

2 large pizzas
22 Krispy Kreme donuts (between 2 visits)
3 VERY large and countrified breakfasts (grits, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc.)
4lbs of BBQ pork, pulled NOT chipped
2 pints of baked beans
2 pints of potato salad
1 WHOLE Peanut Butter pie
75 buffalo wings of various hotness
4 Dinners at Outback (1 being a full rack of ribs eaten by yours truly)
1 pint of cake batter ice cream from Brewsters
1 case of beer (No. I did not have any. I promise. I was too busy painting with lead paint and eating large fish with high mercury content)

Now. Is it any mystery I gained two pounds in 4 days? Nope. And you know we had copious amounts of food when I actually had to throw away 4 Krispy Kreme donuts because they went stale. sigh A loss that I mourned by eating a milkshake from Brewsters.

  5. Can’t you just put those stale doughnuts in a blender with milk or cream and make a doughnut shake? Just wondering.

Okay, I’m coming for a visit. Even though we haven’t officially met. Anyone who eats/orders food like this, especially the Krispy Kremes and the Baby Back Ribs, is my kinda eater! I’m sitting here drooling!!

    NOOOOOOO! NOT baked beans!!!!

  8. I have yet to try anything from Brewster’s…..my friend manages, or will be managing, the Brewster’s in Madison.

We had to order out quite a bit when we moved, too. I loved every minute of it!

Um, what is this “chipped” BBQ you speak of? I have only heard of pulled or ribs. But now my mouth waters.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
