I kept my clothes on!
Category: Pregnant |

We’re back from the doctor’s and all is well. I didnt even have to take my clothes off! Because my doctor is one of six in his practice, they wanted to start me on a “rotation” so that I get to see all of the other doctors at least once before I deliver, just in case my doctor can’t be there to deliver NikkiZ. (Which will break my heart, because I love him so). But - we’ve met ONE of the doctors already, during the hemotoma incident, and he was good. I also saw the protesters picketing him one day for being part of “Planned Parenthood”, and for a pro-choice liberal like me? That’s a plus in my book.

So, they stuck a big “ROTATION” sticker on my chart and I had to resist making the joke “I need a balance AND alignment too, while were at it.”

And, guess what? I had only gained FOUR POUNDS since my last visit, four weeks ago. Which, considering I had gained NINE POUNDS in the four weeks before that? This was good news. I’m still on track to gain “WAY TOO MUCH” weight, but not quite on the road to gaining an “OBSCENE AMOUNT”. And for now? I’m happy with that. Total weight gain so far? 31.5lbs. And…13 weeks to go. See? “WAY TOO MUCH”, but not quite “OBSCENE” yet. I am trying to set attainable goals for myself at this point.

I’ve had a sudden flashback to a bumper sticker that said “Sit on it and rotate.”

At least I hope it’s just a flashback..

Glad to hear you get to meet lots of doctors!

Yay for no private poking! Yay for four pounds! And Yay for really and truly having a baby. How in the world did I get to see the baby skin last week before all these other people??? Just one of the lucky peeps, yo!

  3. Mer Says:

That’s what I was wondering, Cori. The baby skin has been on mine for about that long too. And YAY, keeping your clothes on at the Dr. is always a plus!

Oh yay! But I mean really, don’t you every once in a while yearn for the good old days of the dildocam ultrasounds? I had a regular abdominal one this week for the first time and I felt cheated. I was all, “But…Whaaaat…Where…damn.”

Now I guess this means you have to actually paint and buy baby stuff!

I totally forgot to say LOVE the new site skin too!

Your internet doula says: There really isn’t any reason to have a “poke and prod” at every prenatal appointment, unless you are having a problem. Poke and prod can introduce bacteria and the last thing you want/need is a vaginal infection while you’re pregnant! Blah!

Hurray for only 4 lbs! Good for you!

I like your new look. And kudos to you on the only one pound a week thing. I surpassed that this month, just like last month, and the month before that. And we don’t even have Krispy Kreme anywhere on the island.

Congratulations! And I love the new skin, too. So does this mean we finally get a baby Amazon wishlist? ;)

I realize you’ve probably had this category for a while, but just wanted to say that I’m very happy you were able to make a real pregnancy category. Best of luck to you these remaining 13 weeks!

Love the pink and green skin! On the site I mean, of course, ’cause pink and green skin on a pregnant woman doesn’t sound too healthy. Oh, I guess the pink would be ok, but the green? I don’t think so. Anyway Zoot, wish us luck on our first ultrasound tomorrow and congrats on being able to keep your clothes on. Heh.

Oh, no no no. Not way to much. Just on the upper side of average. Don’t sweat it. I know teeny tiny women who gained and lost 80 pounds with each kid.

I was just thinking about how psyched I am for you as I clicked onto your site, and when I saw “Shit, I’m really having a baby, aren’t I,” well, I just couldn’t stop smiling.

    Love the new look!

So glad all is well! My OB never did a cervix exam until the last 3 or 4 weeks. Here’s hoping you can put it off a while longer.
