Maybe I’ll start by sitting on my ass

This is one of those days where my list of “things I really hope to accomplish” is about 86 hours long in terms of the amount of time it would take me to do it all. A lot of those things relate to cleaning my house, but I just remembered: I’m having out of town company next weekend as well as (hee – I typed “ass” there the first time which changes the meaning of the sentence entirely) a lot of people I don’t know very well in my house on Saturday for a baby shower. EEK. So, why clean my house TODAY when I’m going to want to do it again friday night? So, I crossed the hardcore cleaning items off the list, and I’ll push them back to later in the week. Because we all KNOW there is no way I’m doing that shit TWICE.

(I only do most of it once a month as it is, twice in one week? I think not.)

But, there are other things:

Grocery shopping (at Super Target, which doesn’t open until 8am)
Buy gift for friend who I am having a joint-shower (sounds kinky) with today
Upload photos to WalMart.com to be picked up later
Give photos to college friends who will be at the shower
Hang frames I’ve been working on for weeks in Photo Hall
Hang art in the Art Hall
Go to my P.O. box and see if I have any goodies
Finish a few designs I’m working on
Start a few designs waiting in the wings
Update my portfolio

Okay. I feel better now. I made a list. And holy crap, is that not the most BORING blog entry EVER? My list of things “To Do”? I’m obviously desperate for material, aren’t I? It’s not even a funny list. It’s actually quite boring. Oh well. Its 6:40am on a Saturday morning, I am NOT coming up with something else to write. So, the list? Is all you get. But, I’ll try to come back later and post pictures to make up for it. Deal?

Me too! Well, I’m not getting goodies yet, and it’s too early for showers, but I sooo need to clean and get groceries and pick up photos. So I? Am starting the day by reading other women’s to-do lists. If it makes you feel better, you reminded me of a coupla things I need to do.

I’ll give a sadder list entry… today on my list I have to “check eBay items I bid on in a desperate attempt to re-do the bedroom WAAAAY under budget.”

    {sigh….}

  4. Other ideas for posts:

    1. “Well, I’m going back to bed.”
    2. “Wanna see what’s in my junk drawer?”
    3. “Did you know my Mom goes ape over Big Brother?”
    4. “How rib cages can expand to make room for Baby.”
    5. “There’s nothing to write about today, so I’ll just say Hi, see you later.”

  5. Kate says:

Oh I can’t wait to see what new designs you’re finishing up! I do love seeing your work- so creative and original. Hope you have a great baby shower!!

  6. Jessie says:

Wow, I thought I was the only person in the world who is every up that early on Saturday mornings. I’m glad to hear there’s someone else out there up before the rest of the world.

Saturday mornings what do they look like again, sorry I tend to sleep during most of them.. but hmm yeah it is a pain when you have 40 things to do and no-one to help you with them…

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
