Jeezus. We’ve been home for almost six hours and we’re just now unpacked. I don’t think I realized how much crap we took TO the hospital until we had to unpack it. And now? We enter a whole new world of dilemmas, like where do I put nursing pads in my house? There has never been a need for them before. Do I put them in the drawer with my bras? Or in the bathroom for after a shower? Or maybe in the kitchen for when I want a late night snack?
Anyway…
You know what I am SO excited about? TELEVISION. I have so much stuff on my TiVos at home that I have not seen. We have not watched any TV since Wednesday afternoon - so there should be a lot to catch up on. Thank you for no one ruining any of the shows for me. It has been hard to stay away from my normal web sites for fear of having shows like LOST or Survivor ruined for me. I’ll probably catch up on it all after a few nights of late night nursings. It’s amazing how little I freak out about my raw nipples being sucked to death when I’ve got good TV to watch. I’m a dedicated couch potato.

Your daughter is beautiful! Congratulations and sorry for being one of the ones who exceeded your bandwidth. I saw your “Reading” comment on the gas pains in your shoulder and let me tell you, I have never had a C-section but I have had those pains in my shoulder. Kind of creepy.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
So, what is NikkiZ going to be for Halloween?
I agree wholeheartedly that watching late night DVR recordings help to cope with the nipple pain. I have been referring to the whole experience as Nipple Munch 2005. All I can say is THANK THE LORD ABOVE FOR SOOTHIES. I don’t think I could have made it without those little gel pads.
Glad to hear everything is going great and that everyone is home now!
Oh my gosh! She’s so precious! You’re making me want another one!!
I think the hospital stay was the worst part of the whole thing. Returning to a TiVo full of great stuff? Priceless. Congrats, Zoot
GAS pains in your shoulder…I used to get pains because I burped the babies on the same side…every.time. Try moving her around a bit! She looks adorable! And Lil’Z looks like a very proud big brother. And Mr. Z? Congrats to him too, although you really did all the work!
Those pictures you’ve posted? Those are my crack. I could gaze and happily sigh at those all day long.
Glad to hear you made it home in one piece.
As far as Lost goes, I think this week was a repeat. At least, it was when I checked. Bummer!
She’s absolutely adorable. I too am killing your Bandwidth by stopping by to see more pics and to see how you are doing. Ahhh…this is making me SO excited to meet my wee-one in only 7 weeks!!
Congrats, congrats, congrats!
Re: gas pains in shoulder after a c-section (I’m not nuts, it’s in the “reading” thingy over there ==>), I had that after Busy Girl was born (the first of my 3 c-sections) and I thought I was having a heart attack.
Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl!
I put my bra pad thingies in a basket on the back of the toilet. Figuring out where all the stuff will go… how fun!
Welcome home, all you Zootses!
I absolutely love that close up pic of Li’l Sugar down there. (it IS okay if I give her my own nickname, right? She’s just SO CUTE!)
I’m feeling kinda embarrassed, tho. I mean, here you are posting all these adorable pix of Miss Teensy Tot…oh, and I LOVE the mirror shot of your curly head all smoochy on the bebe. SO ADORABLE!! (did I say that already?)
Anyhow, here you have a cute, warm fuzzy type posts (except for the griping, that is) and my posts of late are….well, of much um…lesser topics.
Gah!!
Anyhows rest up and love up that baby.
Go easy on the beer til she’s not nursing so often, too. ;Þ
~hugs~
Just sayin that you might want to update the “about me” when you get a chance.
Just sayin…
Yay and I’m so glad everyone is home safe and sound. Hugs.
Isn’t LOST on a three-week break? Amen on the couch potato thing though.
She is so beautiful!
I’m gonna be all “I’ve had 4 kids and I have an EMT license AND I’m a nanny” and say just be careful about what she’s exposed to…for just a little while. You mentioned walking around the hospital, which is THE germiest, most diseased place on earth and in the safest reality, the only people holding her at home now should just be the people that live in the house, for at least a couple of weeks, a month if you can swing it. Don’t feel bad about telling people “no” if they want to hold her. Make up a funny excuse if it makes you feel silly that you don’t want them to hold her. (Unless it’s cool with you that everyone holds her - and then…nevermind - ha!)
Maybe I’m probably just too careful and paranoid but I’ve cared for about a gabillion newborns so I guess I’m just a bossy think-she-knows-it-all..just take this assvice for what it is and do with it what you will. =)
I just wanna smell her head. Don’t you love the way a newborn’s head smells?
Welcome Home to all the Zoot Family! Not surprised you had a ton of stuff to unpack. I remember what you showed us you were gonna bring! ;~) LOL
Keep the nursing pads where ever. Use them as coasters. Freak out your friends! LOL!!!
Have a great day!!
