Well, we have survived Bandwidth Frenzy 2005. Since the new month started today, my bandwidth is zeroed out. Which is a good thing because I was NOT going to upgrade AGAIN. Remember…momma needs beer.
But - to fill you in on what you missed while I was gone, here is my best friend: THE LIST! The perfect writing tool for bloggers whose daughters prefer staying up all night being cute and adorable to SLEEPING.
NikkiZ discovered very quickly how joyful some bowel movements can be. She’ll be all CRY SCREAM CRY SCREAM CRY SCREAM and then you’ll here the sound of poops and poots and all sorts of other digestive goodies and immediately she’ll kinda sigh, smile, and fall asleep. She gets that from her Daddy.
LilZ is still getting prouder and prouder of his sister every day. He’s been eyeing these shirts at Target that have funny phrases about sisters on them. He finally bought one yesterday. And wore it with PRIDE.
Mother-in-laws who bring over a weeks worth of dinners for you to keep in your fridge? Are the BEST kind of mother-in-laws around.
I am still finding ways to incorporate the fact that I have 21 staples in my stomach into EVERY conversation imaginable. You bought a new car? Does is have 21 staples in it? Because I do.
MrZ and I are getting the hang of this spending-all-day-at-home-as-a-family thing. It is actually really nice. We make a really good team and neither one of us is getting more sleep than the other. Now, I’m up more at night, of course, but I tend to doze off throughout the day while MrZ holds NikkiZ, so it all works out in the end.
Everyone assumes when you say your boobs hurt from nursing that you must be nursing WRONG. You know? That is not necessarily the case, right? You DO know that sometimes? When an object gets sucked on repeatedly for days? It gets CHAPPED and RAW and it has to callous. NikkiZ is nursing GREAT, she’s just sucking the skin off my nipples (yum) so no need to worry that I’m not nursing her right! I’m an old pro, I promise!
You also missed Halloween! Now, I did dress up in my Pumpkin costume for five minutes. But, the damn thing has tights and, I don’t know if you heard, but I have staples in my abdomen. So, I only wore it long enough for pictures. Pictures that I am NOT posting on this site because they depress me as I am still 36lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. You can just imagine them, I’m sure. Instead - see how adorable my daughter was in HER pumpkin costume? That is much better.
We gave away 10lbs of candy in ONE HOUR last night. We were warned that our neighborhood LOVES halloween and there will be GOBS of kids. So, I thought, surely 5 2lb bags are enough, right? Nope. One hour after our first trick-or-treater we had to turn off the lights and start telling kids who knocked we were out of candy. How awful is that? But - it was GREAT and it makes Halloween that much cooler when you actually have trick-or-treaters come by. And we’ll just eat all of LilZ’s candy anyway - so no big deal we didn’t have any leftover.
Goodness gracious, woman! You are up early. NikkiZ looks very cute as a pumpkin. Although I’m sure you did, too. The extra weight is totally just a part of the costume.

Dude, we don’t live that far from your neighborhood, and we only got ONE customer last night. After a careful analysis, I think it may be because 1) not many little kids live on our actual street and 2) our house is at the crest of a steep hill and 3) no street lights/sidewalks on our street. I have like 3 Sam’s club size bags of candy that weren’t even cracked open. AND I’m trying to avoid sweets.
My kids were disappointed that almost all of the Target smart-aleck tee-shirts had to do with sisters rather than brothers. LilZ can really stock up! They are on clearance, you know.
Take it easy, gal. And I’ll try to help your beer money fund by clicking on your site only one million, rather than 5 million, times a day.
Believe me, you will talk about the staples for the rest of your life! I had staples (19) in my arm, after I broke it three years ago and I still tel ANYONE who will (or won’t) listen!! And btw, it does not hurt when they take them out, at least not in my case.
I saw those shirts yesterday, and since we don’t have sisters around here, I thought of YOU! GLAD Lil Z found them– Hope everyone is doing well!

We had 5 yes, 5 trick or treat-er’s. I think our 600 foot unlit driveway discourages them! I wish I had more. But then, I get to eat the candy I insisted Hubby we had to buy in case we had more this year!
I didn’t have a C-section, but I still talk about the 4 stitches I had for an episiotomy! Owch! hank God they didn’t staple me there!
She is the cutest little pumpkin I’ve ever seen. And I love the new big brother shirt! And I can relate to that whole 36 lbs left to go…. I remember that.
She is just gorgeous! You’re so lucky, all those cute little girl clothes *sigh*. Not that I don’t enjoy the boy, but those clothes!!!!
Good thinking on incorporating the c-section talk into all conversations, I wish I would have thought of that. You’re a genius!

Glad halloween went great. What was LilZ’s costume? The little pumpkin looks so adorable.
I always felt the need to talk about my staples months afterward. Especially when Jerry would ask me to wash the dishes. “Man, don’t you think you can do it? Someone ripped Malia out of me and stapled me back together. Thanks.”
