		<description>If you are going to use icing from a can (I&#039;m a baking snob and make my own buttercream), Take some icing out of the can, put it in a bowl (cup, whatever) and mix in powdered sugar a little at a time until it is stiff and not that semi-pourable glop that comes out of the can.

Alternatively, If you refrigerate the icing, it will also help it be a bit stiffer for that middle layer of icing. (but work somewhere cool, otherwise it will thaw and become gloppy again.

When you are icing the OUTSIDE of the cake, keep a cup of HOT water by you.  Dip the Spreader in the hot water before each time you start spreading the icing.  This will keep the icing from sticking to the spreader instead of the cake.</description>
