Dude. I just went to feed NikkiZ and it’s freakin’ HOT outside.Don’t get me wrong, I much prefer being hot over being cold. But - it’s JANUARY for chrissakes. It’s WINTER. I’m not supposed to be cursing my lack of air conditioning in my car until SPRINGTIME. What the hell?
Of course, it was pretty chilly this morning so I’m wearing warm clothing that is now making me sweat my ass off since it’s bathing suit weather this afternoon.
What is up with this? It’s not felt much like winter all month. January is going to have come and gone and we’ve had, like two cold spells. If we had plants we cared about, we wouldn’t have had to worry about them once. Of course, thanks to the pea-gravel lovers that owned the house before us, there’s still not much in the “flowerbeds” to worry about.
It’s all just very weird. I don’t necessarily LOVE winter, but it would be nice to have a winter to HATE. Or at least maybe at least one threat of snow. I’ve not seen even ONE milk or bread panic yet this winter. And in Alabama? We have those panics if there is even the most remote chance of a flurry to fall from the sky. But so far this winter? Not even one panic induced milk shortage.
I’m starting to feel slighted.

In a few years we’ll all have palm trees.
Did you see that report that 2005 was the hottest worldwide since they started keeping records? And that the top five hottest years have all been since 1998, four of the five since 2001?
Erm, not to cause panic milk buying, of course.
tell you what, let’s trade houses. That way you can have all the snow you want, and hey, I LOVE pea gravel!
Global warming! Gotta love it! Let’s all run out and get hybrid cars now….
psssht it SNOWED for 5 minutes this morning, then it was sunny for like 2 hours, and now it’s really grey and windy. what the hell?! at least you have slight consistency…
i just (like just now, 5 minutes ago) created a blog, and i was wondering if i could link to you? you’re one of my faves… =)
Hey, don’t feel bad. They were calling for this winter to be one of the worse in years up here in Baltimore. We’ve seen maybe 3 inches of snow all year long! Granted, it WAS enough to get us off of work because everyone paniced and we had some ice to go along with it….
I really hate the fact that when I went shopping last weekend… I had a spaghetti strap tank top on and I walked from my car to the bank and back again without a sweatshirt on and I did not get cold at all. I was quite comfortable. (The malls around here are so hot, you can’t wear normal clothes. >.< ) I understand your pain! =)
The weather has been uber creepy lately. I feel like I’m living in the beginning of a disaster movie.
It keeps flip-flopping here… sometimes freezing, sometimes summer-like.
I just wish it would make up its mind. It’s killing me to think what the hurricane season is going to be like this year with the weird weather we’re having in January.
And just think what the bugs will be like next summer… Be prepared to be carried off.
Yet, my frickity-frackin utility bill is still like $300??!??!?! I used the lack of cold weather (and the presumed heating savings) to finance several unnecessary Target clearance safaris. Oh, the humanity!!!!
P.S. there’s a major clearance bonanza in the baby aisle endcaps at the BC target, in case you haven’t seen it yet. Yes, I browsed it thoroughly in spite of the fact that the youngest member of our household is nearly 8. What can I say, it’s a disease.
Cold in the morning, hot later on. Do you live in Missouri too? A few days ago it was 68 degrees one after noon. 24 hours later, it was 24 degrees. Ugghh!
Our weather has been ridiculously warm too! We broke records today! Bizarre!
It was thirty-seven degrees outside yesterday morning when I left for work…in Northern Minnesota! Talk about bathing suit weather!
I’d kill for some warm weather!!! My gas billfor December was $468!!!! AGH! And it wasnt THAT cold! Bring on spring and summer please!!!
I have plenty of winter up here I am hating, I’d be happy to share!
dude it’s -18C here.
Which is cold but not as cold as it should be this time of year!
The apocolypse! It is a upon us!
