It all started with MrZ picking up LilZ Friday from school because he called from the clinic saying his stomach was hurting. MrZ said, kinda nonchalantly, “You know? My stomach has been kinda crampy too.”
Friday night? While I was preparing for Stace and her friend to come spend the night with us, MrZ was getting sicker and sicker. He finally decided before they got there that there was no WAY he was coming out of the bedroom while they were there.
Hey Stace’s friend who is from another country! I hope your time in the states has been nice, would you like one of our world famous stomach viruses to take to your family? GREAT! Touch the doorknob!
I was constantly coating my hands in Purell and staying as far away from MrZ as possible. I had a good visit with Stace and the girls all the while, MrZ was dying just two rooms over. It was very odd. LilZ, NikkiZ and I all slept in LilZ’s bed because I didn’t want to share a bed with MrZ. (Aren’t I a sweet wife?) Unfortunately, I knew when I woke up around 4:30am, that it was not enough. I was getting sick too.
There was about a 5 hour overlap that morning where MrZ was still recovering and my death watch was starting when LilZ had to take care of me and NikkiZ. I would hold her and then scream “LilZ! I gotta throw up!” and he would take her while I ran to the bathroom. I pretty much had him tailing me all over the whole house so that when I went to throw up, he could take her. Diaper changes were FUN!
Eventually MrZ got up and started washing the sheets and towls from his night of death. As soon as he was done? I got in the bed and barely moved the rest of the day. I didn’t have it as bad as MrZ, but the ONLY thing I had eaten since 7pm the night before was one Krispy Kreme donut. And I kept tasting that ONE DONUT all day long. And you know? It may be awhile before I can have another one. A LONG WHILE.
We are all better now. So far? It doesn’t look like NIkkiZ or LilZ got what we had. I feel like death warmed over this morning. Weak and pale and sickly. BUT - I don’t feel like I’m going to puke! Or poop! Woo!
Of course, I’ve been sicker. Whenever I get a stomach bug I compare it to the time I was staying at LilZ’s Dad’s house and I got so sick and was so feverish I saw the cast of Lizzie MacGuire in the bathroom with me while I was throwing up. They were helping me while Hillary Duff was suggesting a trip to the emergency room since I appeared dehydrated. So - as long as no Disney Channel teen stars make an appearance? I know things could have been worse.
Glad to know you’re doing better. I had the same experience with a krispy kreme donut and it took me months to be able to eat another one and I doubt I could ever eat them by the box like I used to. Very sad.

Second…Lizzy MacQuire? I kind of heart her…well before she stopped eating. Maybe she was giving you vomit pointers…heh….

Sorry I had to laugh about this. My husband, however, is sick too, so I’ve had little reason to laugh these last two days. AND I start a new job on Monday, so I CANNOT GET SICK, NO SIREE!
One memorable stomach bug is the sole reason I cannot eat roasted pumpkin seeds. Typing it actually causes me to feel a bit nauseous around the edges.

I had the same virus a few weeks back - good news it feels like it is going to kill you, you think you are going to die but at least it does not last long. Hang in there mamazoot!
Damn, glad you’re feeling better. I had a nasty stomach bug last year and I still remember the horror. Thank god for LilZ and his helpfulness! That kid has earned a treat!
Lilz is going to be a wonderful hubby someday. And I’m scared to type a post because I don’t want that bug! Can they jump through blogs? heehee. Glad you’re feeling better, but so happy you are in the south and I’m in the Midwest, no offense. heehee.

I had that just about a month or so ago. Not fun. It really hit all over the city here… must have decided to go south for some warm weather.
