I decided to give NikkiZ some Tylenol right before bed last night, so that if she’s teething it would help her sleep better. She and I both crashed around 8:30 or so, and I had just fed her. I was so tired, it took everything out of me just to stay awake THAT long, so 8:30 was quite impressive to me.
MrZ decided after he watched 24 to throw in some of the Veronica Mars DVDs (he’s watching the first season because he, like I did, became incredibly addicted after just a few episodes) and I kept waking up and hearing them and thinking, “Oh oh oh, I love this part.” or “Oh oh oh. A good part is coming up, I’ve got to listen.” So, even though I was tired, I kept waking up to watch bits and pieces with MrZ. And because the show is so damn addicting, he kept watching more episodes. Of course, every time I woke up, I thought “NikkiZ should be waking up…” but she never did.
In essense? MrZ watched that show until almost MIDNIGHT. With me waking up periodically to watch with him. And what did NikkiZ do? SLEPT THE ENTIRE TIME. She barely budged even once. Of course, once he stopped watching them and I could focus on getting some sleep, she started waking up every hour.
This daughter of mine, I’m beginning to think she’s just screwing with my head.

I know this is going to come out judgemental, but my husband does the same thing and I have the same problem with wanting to see what he’s watching. Why couldn’t he give you some peace and quiet so you could get some sleep?
Torture…pure torture.
I’m with you in spirit since I know you haven’t had much sleep, and I haven’t slept at all.
Yay for sleep deprivation! As if I wasn’t loopy enough.
I went down to the pharmacy and got myself ear plugs. Hubby loves to stay up late, but he doesn’t get up early like I do. Man, I love my ear plugs!!!
Oh, NikkiZ is definitely just screwing with your head. I swear, babies know a lot more than they let on.
On a totally unrelated subject… Amazing Race starts tonight Whoo Hoo!!!! Hopefully you’ll be able to stay awake to watch it.
Her Tylenol wore off.
Tell Mr Z that unless he starts lactating, he should watch TV in the other room and let you sleep when you get the chance! hehehe
I love that green booster you have NikkiZ in! Where’d you get it?
Maybe she liked the sound of Veronica Mars. Maybe you should just let it play all night. And then you get yourself earplugs?
Yeah, I’m with Katie on this. Perhaps she’s so busy dreaming of being a girl detective herself, that she doesn’t want to wake up. Well, that and the tylenol.
It would work for me!
Hi Miss Zoot,
I wanted to comment about your daughter’s sleeping habbits. It sounds like she has an easier time sleeping when there is background noise. My son did the same thing. He would sleep during the day just fine. Only when it was time for everyone to go to bed and the room was quiet and dark did he get really fussy and toss and turn. Maybe you should try keeping a night light on or the tv on low volume. It helped with us.
Shanda
Oh my god, I LOVE Veronica Mars! Before the first episode of this season, my friend and I had a season one marathon. Only problem is that I always have the theme song stuck in my head so I go around singing it… maybe a grown-up version of your LilZ movie problem?
(Actually, it’s not a problem, because I kinda love the theme song too… and it makes me think of the show and then I am happy. I think I am a little bit krazy.)
It’’s that Logan. You can’t take your eyes off of him.
I’m with Shanda…My first though was from now on leave the TV, Fan something running..maybe if you can stand it you can sleep… AR tonight whooooooo
