Guess what I got in the mail yesterday? A nursing necklace! Leah sent it to me to help with my problem I’ve been having with NikkiZ getting distracted while she nurses. This necklace gives her something to play with while she nurses so that it encourages her to stay focused on the nursing and the necklace because they all pull her attention in the same direction. She really likes it and so do I.
If you want one too? You should email Leah at whatnotandwhimsyATgmailDOTcom (you know the deal, replace the “at” and the “dot” with the actual symbols, this is to keep some bot from browsing this page and grabbing her email) and she’ll sell you one too! It really is a neat thing and I’m very grateful she sent it to me. It’s made of incredibly strong and waterproof cord while it also has a release clasp in case of emergency, like, getting it stuck in gears when I’m working with heavy machinery. Better safe than sorry.
It’s awesome and I love it. Thanks, Leah.

That is so cute! Really neat idea. You are lookin’ good, girl(s). Also? Don’t hate me for saying this, but I am totally seeing the Jodie thing in the photo on the right. Foster, not Sweetin.
What will they think of next! HOW clever is this.
I’ve noted Leah’s email, as these would be great baby gifts for somebody. I just have to think of who might be pregnant at the moment and I’ll order a few.
THAT’S who you resemble in some of your photos….Jodi Foster! I thought you looked familiar. Love your hair….sure, now go and tell me it’s natural curls! (pout)
That is too cool! I’ve never heard of one of those. The pictures are sweet. Makes me miss those days.
Wow- that’s really neat! I would wear that even if I wasn’t nursing! Which I ain’t! And I have to say, all the pictures of NikkiZ are just adorable!
Seems like a good idea. Sure would beat MrMan’s current habit of pinching my arm in his pulsing vice grip as he nurses.
I can’t believe you don’t use a boppy when you feed! I even take my boppy everywhere!
And you look so young in those pictures! and totally Jody-ish!
AND, I am loving the nursing pictures. I have been doing this now for 8 months myself, and I want a nice tasteful picture like that of me nursing! waa!

Oh, you look so cute together! I’m glad you and NikkiZ are enjoying your necklace. Chloe (22 months) loved hers and it’s now a staple in her dress-up box. My mom watches Bradley (6 months) during the day for me and she wears one when she gives him his bottles because he’s a pincher! She has the same kind I use and so when he sees her pull it out he starts drooling.
Thanks so much for the positive press!
great idea! glad it’s working!
I was going to make a tacky comment, saying I wondered if I got one of those for my wife if I’d perhaps get a little boobie time, but I decided against it.
You rock, Z!
What a great idea!!!
I’ve been meaning to write you about breastfeeding for a couple months now. I am currently pregnant with my first children (twins) and am very commited to nursing. As you can imagine I have received tons of negative comments about my commitment. I just wanted to tell you I am impressed how natural it seems to be for you with no real hangups. (This seems so rare these days)
My guess is you fed LilZ so it is more natural for you with NikiZ. Any tips, advice or secrets you’d be willing to share I would love to hear some positive, encouraging words about nursing. I’m 35 wks today so birth day is any time now. I love your blog! I read everyday.
Take care!
Amanda
That’s kinda cool. She looks like she’s enjoying playing with it while she’s…uh…while she’s…uh…um…is she…uh….I don’t think you can do that in Ann Arbor.
