I am so glad it is Friday

I was leaving NikkiZ’s day care and I was going to go to my car via the flower beds at the front of the building. There are little paths in the beds by either door, and I use them often. When I went to the path, I noticed there was a little sign there. I jumped over the sign and kept going. Then, I stopped and thought, “Hmm…I wonder what that sign I just jumped over says?”

Something along the lines of “Quit walking through our flower beds you idiot. These bushes are sharp and these paths were not intentional.” Except it was much nicer.

I’m hoping they didn’t see me do that. They would either think (a) she’s a dumbass and didn’t even read the sign she jumped over or (b) she’s totally being antagonistic and using the path even though we’re trying to keep her off of it. Neither one of those are impressions I want to leave with the people caring for my daughter.

Although, I have a feeling after my past issues at the place, they’ll be much quicker to assume “moron” than “nonconformist.”

Maybe the daycare can have a little stepping stone project and lay them in the paths that seem to be already created . . .

  2. Jessie says:

Well, maybe they should take out the paths, because seriously, if they are there, people are going to use them!

I think it would be pretty funny if the sign on Monday said ZOOT we saw you jump over the sign, we just put it there to see if you would read it. Ok, I am having an evil Friday can you tell?

By the way, you rock as far as inspiration. I didn’t get to post on your post of what you are good at… I know you weren’t soliciting compliments, but you really cut yourself short. You are the best motivator. I have lost count them 1.2.3.4. pounds because of your 5k experience!

When I read “Hmm…I wonder what that sign I just jumped over says?” I thought you were going to eventaully post what that sign said.

Elizabeth’s old daycare was like that. No one ever paid any attention to the signs.

You are not a moron…No…your not…….Zoot! I said No! Now quit arguing with me… I win!

Those little “stay off the lawn” signs are all over in one section of our neighborhood. It’s a downtown, quaint like section of town. They even have cobblestone sidewalks and everything. it’s really pretty. But anyways… back to the point…No one ever seems to listen to them here either.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
