I prescribe you a dose of silly babies…
Category: MrZ, NaBloPoMo - '06 |

MrZ was/is having one of those days today. You know the ones: Skies are gray, rain won’t let up, stress at work and stress at home. Just all around sucktacular. Usually I’m the one having those days, so I took it upon myself to cheer him up in the only way I know how…

(Get your mind out of the gutter!)

…I took him to Best Buy and then to play with the babies at NikkiZ’s school. (WAVE OF BABIES!!!!!)

We didn’t buy anything at Best Buy, but I told him he could! That counts, right? And sometimes just being surrounded by the goods is just as mood-lifting as buying them. (Who am I kidding? Not it’s not.)

Then we went to hang with NikkiZ at her school and all of the other kids in her class just flocked to MrZ like he was the coolest thing in the world. (NikkiZ: Hands Of My Dad.) We also went for coffee and pastries at the Barnes and Noble Cafe, but that was more for me than for him. I’m the one with an unquenchable appetite for Pumpkin Spice Lattees.

I think he felt a little better afterwards, although I can’t do much about the weather. It just seems like lately it’s one shitstorm after another for MrZ. It really sucks because things are falling into place in my life (marathon training, new job, Pumpkin Spice Lattees…) just as his life is getting more and more insane (sprained neck, tendonitis, sinus infection….). I guess it’s good my life is going well because when I have crap to bitch about? I don’t want anyone stealing my limelight.

You tease! You know you’re driving the screaming masses crazy, dropping innocent-sounding little hints like that.

Man, I canNOT get motivated in this weather. If I lived in Seattle or Portland or something, I would be a totally unproductive bum.

Lattes ALWAYS cheer me up. If he didn’t snap out of his funk after that, then I would have been at a total loss on what to do next.

    NEW JOB?!

  13. Frema Says:

I think that even if you don’t buy anything, KNOWING that you could if you wanted to can be even better than actually buying something, because when you leave the store, you walk away with the same shopping high without any of the costs.

  14. Steph Says:

Somehow I feel dirty that I knew in detail about your blisters but not about a new job. Did I miss something?
