Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday) To You All!
Category: NaBloPoMo - '06, Operation Marathon |

I am bundled up on the fold-out bed/couch thingy (my brain is too tired to come up with the real name for it which I know will hit me sometime next week) trying to crank out an entry while MrZ showers. The drive was not as bad as I was expecting, but only because I was expecting non-stop screaming. There were breaks in the tantrums, believe it or not. Eventually, we took 8+ hours to make a 6+ hour drive.

We didn’t get to bed until laaaaate last night, and NikkiZ didn’t sleep that well. So, I’m dead-tired as I write this which wouldn’t be a big deal except that we have the Turkey Day Race in New Orleans this morning. Although really, I’m not too worried. It’s five miles long which is short enough I’m not stressing, but long enough to make up for all of the crap I’m bound to eat today. All hail casseroles and any product made with pumpkins.

I hope those of you celebrating Thanksgiving today have a great one. And I hope those of you who don’t celebrate Thaksgiving have a great Thursday. As a matter of fact, I hope it’s the best Thursday you’ve ever had! Yay for Thursdays!

My little city and its sister town always hold a turkey day run/walk. (The only reason I know this is because my ex’s sister and her husband did it every year.) This year there was a marathon option. I didn’t know that until just after daylight when I kept seeing runners go past my house. One runner told me what it was all about and then I made sure to stay outside to cheer them on. I thought it was pretty damn cool because I don’t live on a major street.

When the runners were going by, I thought about you and how you’ve gone from couch potatoe to marathon runner. Now … I hope I can do the same.
