Man. You all seriously rock my socks. All of the comments on my wine entry both schooled me and helped me to not feel alone in the quest to graduate into adulthood with proper wine drinking. And by “proper” I mean “No More Boone’s Farm” - unless I’m kicking it old school. Sometimes you just gotta stay in touch with your younger, poorer self. You know, the same one that shopped at dig stores and picked up furniture off the side of the road.
It still amazes me after three years how blogging actually does improve my life. You all teach me things I’d be too lazy to research on my own. And sometimes you simply sympathisize about also not knowing - making me feel less like a moron. Both of these things I’m severely grateful for.
Speaking of sappy stuff - I watched that Rob Lowe movie, “A Perfect Day” last night and I cried in it. Where that could mean that the movie was that good and Rob Lowe’s performance was moving - I’m thinking it really just means I’m so exhausted my emotions have gone haywire. Now is where you all chime in and say, “No! I saw the movie too and it was amazing! I cried too!”
(crickets chirping)
Oh well, at least we have our pink wine.

I’m exhausted too, so I think I need to watch a Rob Lowe movie. I don’t have a perfect day, so I will watch OXFORD BLUES.
Seriously, I don’t know if I would have been able to get through the past year, let alone the past week, without bloggers and blogging.
And while I didn’t see the Rob Lowe movie, you really don’t want to know what has made me tear up lately.
Oh man! I forgot to watch it!! I really wanted to too.
It was filmed here in NOLA…there were Rob Lowe sightings all summer/fall. Man. Hopefully it will air again….
Okay, so I kind of am a wine snob. Six+ months of classes to become a Sommelier. The joys of working in fine dinning for 10 years…
If ya ever need help!!!
I probably should have said this in the comments to the last entry, but my friends and I have, on occasion, rocked the Boones Farm just for old times sake. Only now when we do it, we drink it out of paper bags on our front stoops… and I’m totally not kidding.
Woo Hoo on the wine! We, and by that I mean I, LOVE a good glass of wine on occasion.
My fave - Kendall Jackson. Don’t know what it is, I think it’s a reisling, but I LURVE it!
Plus, one of my favoritest kids in the whole world has that name, just by coincidence
The rest of the girls TOTALLY make fun of me for drinking pink wine. I don’t care. It’s the wine I like. And now, Beringer (my favorite pink wine company) makes a “white merlot”, which is a deeper shade of pink. I like it, too.
And your comment about “found furniture”: I have no idea why, but I have (for YEARS!) wanted to do a collection of heroin-chic models in couture dresses posing in “found” furniture.. while it’s still on the side of the road.
Someday. Oh yeah, baby.. someday.
I love pink wine… I still buy boones farm. I just like how it tastes, plus it cheap as heck!
If you like pink wine, you should try, Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir Rose’, it’s a local wine to Oregon, and also my favorite vineyard. I loooove it.
Let me know if you’re interested and I can hook you up with a bottle…
I SO loved the comments from your last post about wine! I don’t know much about wine either, although I’ve been drinking it for years. All I know is that hubby and I love the Franzia Chianti in a box and when at a restaurant I’ll order a merlot or shiraz. We do like a Riesling and I like blush wines, too. I’m trying out some Texas wines, also, because the wineries here are really coming up in the industry.
You’ve motivated me to go running. I really have been wanting to work out but I have a hard time actually getting out of the house. I’m a terrible runner but I figure if you can do it than so can I. Wish me luck (no really, I need it becuase I am the worst runner ever)
