I have a confession to make. Remember how I ran that half-marathon in Tucson two-and-a-half weeks ago? That was the last time I ran as of yesterday. The first few days I can easily blame on post-marathon recovery and the nastiest blisters ever in the history of blisters (ask my family, they’ll vouch for that). Then it became an issue with sick kids and no time. And then it became Christmas prep and no time. And before I knew it? It was yesterday and I hadn’t run in two weeks.
I won’t get into the guilt issues I feel about that and how hard I worked to get to that point and how dare I do something that stupid. What I’ll get into instead is the fact that I ran last night! I went to the Y and still managed to run almost four miles. And it felt FANTASTIC. Seriously. My body was telling me, “Damn straight, beeyatch.” I mean, I felt energized and my emotions (which have been a wee crazy this past week) stabilized and I just felt good. That is what this training has done to me, it has made my body unable to function properly without running. Part of me is like, “Hell yeah! My body is changing and wants me to run! Who knew a lazy body could do that?” But then the other side of me is like, “Well shit. So long beautiful laziness. Hello damn exercise.”
Of course, it also felt good considering the last two weeks of no running combined with excess eating have added a few of the hard-earned lost pounds back onto my body. I’m blaming those pounds on my mom’s sinful chex mix and my mother-in-law’s sugary-coated-pieces-of-heaven/hell walnuts that I could NOT stop eating even after I made myself sick on them. Damn the women in my family and their culinary skills.
Either way. Running is good. Food is evil. Then End.

The Internet is getting in shape, I love it.
I hate running, always have, but I also have some holiday pounds to take off, plus about 40 more, trying to get back down to your size, basically!
Aerobics classes and whatnot will work for me. Just need to get out of the house and go to them.
I can’t even start to think about the added weight from my eating over the weekend. Good thing my new pants still fit when I put them on this morning!!
Food…is yummy!
Have you seen these shirts:
