I just got back from taking LilZ to see Epic Movie for his birthday. He wanted to see it with his friends tomorrow, but a lot of people wouldnt want their kids to see it, so I promised to take him tonight to see it. He loves all of those movies: Scary Movie, Date Movie etc. Of course, he loved this one almost as much as the others. However, I wanted to shoot myself during some parts of the movie and found myself falling asleep towards the end. The preview BEFORE the movie about John Travolta and William H. Macy in a bicycle gang was funnier than the entire movie. I tried to explain to LilZ, “It’s just not my sense of humor.”
And that may be the understatement of the year. I think that movie may have been one of the worst I’ve ever had to sit through. Meanwhile, my 12-year-old son is about to pee on himself he’s laughing so hard. And the funny thing? I know MrZ would have been as well. It looks like it’s time for me to pass the torch of Parent Who Takes LilZ to the Movies off to him. And I’ll do so very happily.
Until the next Harry Potter comes out, of course. Then I’m stealing the torch back.
I’d sure pass it off. I can’t stand stupid movies. There’s a difference between stupid and hilarious and stupid and stupid. I’m sorry you had to sit through it. Aren’t boys’ senses of humor weird?
Aww, you didn’t like it? I thought it looked really good. But I like Scary Movie and all those others. I want to go see Epic Movie this weekend.
I hate comedies that aren’t really funny. “The Longest Yard” remake was the biggest diappointment. I didn’t laugh AT ALL. Blegh.
ok, just so you know, i;m trying to avoid seeing or hearing the words ‘harry potter,’ because i might have a stroke if i start thinking about how long i have to wait to read the next book. and then i start thinking about how after the next book comes out, THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ONE. and life will be devoid of meaning and there will be no point in living.

me tooo…13 year old loves all that stuff. Him and hubby watch all of them together.
He got Jackass 1 & 2 for christmas….i got partway through the 1st one, but its a lttle toooo much Jackass.

I’m hoping it’s out on video by say, next week or so.
I don’t care if it’s stupid - I’ll watch it. I just don’t wanna blow $40 for tickets and popcorn so my kids can see it at the theater.
I have no shame (or pride? which?) - I saw not only the Yugi-Oh! movie at the theater, but Sharkboy and Lavagirl (3d glasses! Full house! ) and even Little Man. So bad movies don’t bother me.
I just wish they’d give a discount or something.
How are you comng along on Eragon? You going to finish that book so you can go see the movie?
