It’s 1:40am. Why am I awake? WIDE awake? IT SNOWED LAST NIGHT. I mean, so far it’s only like .00001 inches - but still! Snow! We haven’t seen snow in so long I forgot how exciting it was. According to the news last night, the good stuff was supposed to be here after 3am, and it’s not even 3am yet. I’m not sure if there’s more coming or not, but the amount that is on the ground is enough to probably keep the kids out of school. SNOWDAY! Eeek. Is it wrong of me to totally want to wake LilZ up right now and be all, “SNOW!”

I’ll report back later with pictures. It’s still too dark now, obviously.

SNOW!

UPDATE: Well - I’m awake (again) for good now, and the snow has turned to rain so it’s kinda washing away. I’m so sad. Oh well - at least I got to see it for a little while last night. Schools may open late, but I’m sure they won’t close. LilZ will be bummed.

I did exactly that with my kids……and those lazy freaks wouldn’t get up out of bed to come see it! Who knows when this neck of the woods will see snow again? I sure hope it clears up by this weekend, though. Right now there appears to be at least an inch on everything, even more on my car. And it’s still not 3 AM.

i live in michigan, and when i was young we had snow days coming out of our ears.

nowadays, snow is still pretty and all…
    but it’s not the same.
there is no hope of cancelled school, just the foreboding thought of freezing your buns off as you spend 20 minutes brushing/scraping/thawing your car before work in the morning.

still, it was nice to hear your excitement.
    it takes me back.

any chance you can get out of work and enjoy the snow day with lilz and nikkiz?
i hate it when adults are robbed of the snowday. maybe you could call in sick or something.

We got snow in Chattanooga! about an inch. I totally took Fuller out in the rain to take pictures of him “throwing” snowballs. It is all melting right now, but it still looks pretty. All the schools are closed today.

I relied on my kids to tell me whether the TV said it was going to be a snow day, and they said yes. I just double-checked and the schools are actually opening on time, except for Monte Sano. They just got confused by all the listings. Now they are rushing around getting ready, looking like the wind got out of them. Clearly, a profound injustice has been perpetrated against all that is good and holy in the world.

We currently have about 6 inches on the ground with another 2 to 4 on the way & I would be THRILLED to send some of it to you. I am just generous that way.

As an AL transplant to the Northeast, in PA for 2 years now, I still get excited when it snows…which means I have been excited for about 16 days in a row now :-) Fortunately, while it snows every day, not much of it accumulates, so its not like we are up to our ears in snow or anything. However, I still feel the need to rush out and buy bread and milk every time the flakes start to fall, and it took me a while to get used to the idea that the schools wouldn’t close if there was an inch or less of the white stuff on the ground. And I still expect the whole world to stop and watch the snow fall with me :-)

You have an open invitation to come up north and enjoy sitting here through one of our “lake effect snow squalls” here in upstate NY. If you get excited by 0.00001″ of snow, you’ll be ecstatic when it starts coming down 5″ an hour. Yeah, schools closed after that one.

5″ of snow? No problem. 5″ an hour for 4 hours? Might slow you down a tad.

I have tons of snow here…want me to ship some?!

It snowed here today, too. It switched over to rain about lunchtime and now most of it is gone. I tried to take my three year old outside, but he said, “It’s cold, I don’t like it.” He didn’t want to play in the snow?! I was disappointed.
