Praise all that is Holy! Book 7 is coming!
Category: Don't call me a muggle |

The release date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been announced: July 21, 2007.

I really wish she had chosen 7/7/07 because that would be AWESOME. But, this is good too because it is one week after my 32nd birthday. Happy Birthday to me. I’m torn between being anxious with anticipation and depressed because the end is officially here.

Now it’s time to plan our parties.

I totally just ordered my copy.

  2. Secha Says:

I was just about to send you an email letting you know. ~.^ I heard that they’re releasing an adult hard back and a child hard back, though. Did you hear this? If so, any idea why there are two different ones?

  3. Bev Says:

07-07-07 is the day my daughter is getting married!

  4. stacey Says:

holy crap. I don’t know if i should be happy or cry!

  5. cagey Says:

Yeah!! I should be done birthing this baby by then and can just drag the kid with me to the midnight festivities. I suspect neither one of us will be sleeping by then anyway. I will have to dig out my Professor McGonagall costume for THAT.

P.S. 7/7/7 would have been cool, but it’s not on a Tuesday, so that was unlikely. Why are books always released on Tuesday? I tried to google it with no success.

  6. Jessie Says:

I can’t wait. I have to get my husband started on the first books now so he can be ready when it comes out and we can be excited together.

  7. SouthernMom Says:

As I was reading this, the Today show announced the exact same news…Matt joked that this final book will feature Harry Potter naked on the cover. Considering you post regarding the pics, somehow I don’t think a lot of people would mind!

  8. Sonia Says:

Thank you, now I can plan my entire summer schedule around its release.

  9. Karly Says:

Well, crap. Thats my wedding anniversary which means I’m going to have to spend it with my husband instead of reading my pretty new book. Crap, crap, crap!

  10. Janet Says:

I’m going to Scotland that weekend!

  11. Mary Says:

I’m so excited! And July 21st isn’t a Tuesday, cagey, it’s a Saturday. So that kinda blows your theory.

  12. Amy W Says:

It is my daughter’s birthday! What a great day!

  13. callistawolf Says:

WEEE!! I had a feeling it’d be around then that it’d come out, but I’m SO glad its confirmed. I guess I know what I’ll be reading on the plane to Chicago and Blogher! ;) (because, sadly, I doubt I’ll have much child-free time in the week before to read too much… BOO but yay for the plane ride!)

  14. Jenny H. Says:

WOO-HOO,WOO-HOO… FINALLY!! I am so excited I might have peed myself a little!!! I cannot wait. July is NEVAH gonna get here.

On a side note, the 21st is my parents 34th wedding anniversary!! AND- 3 weeks after my 33rd birthday!! Yay me!!

  16. brit Says:

  17. Jane Says:

Woohoo! I placed my Amazon pre-order a few minutes ago.

  18. Kathryn Says:

Waah… This is a week BEFORE the bar exam! (umm, how bad is it that it occured to me to wait and just take the bar next February?)

  19. BJaxon62 Says:

I’m looking forward to the new book, even though it will be the last.

In a way I feel a little… horrified. We were all sure that 7/7/07 wouldn’t work because it was too soon. But this release date is only a little longer after that. It’s TOO SOON, PEOPLE!!! TOO SOON!! :(

  21. kimberly Says:

So excited!!! I’d throw a release party myself…but no one I know reads the books. Buncha unread miscreants. ;)

  22. Elyse Says:

The book AND the movie about a week apart? How Pottergasmic is that???

  23. Charlotte Says:

    Pottergasmic? HA!

  24. Joanna Says:

It would be fun if you and LilZ do podcasts leading up to the release with your predictions, like “Snape: Good or Evil?” or “Hogwarts: Totally Screwed without Dumbledore?”

  25. Loretta Says:

    Wooohoooo!!!! :)

  26. janna Says:

7/7/07 was out, apparently, because it’s the anniversary of the Blitz. The English publisher was worried about celebration on what’s apparently usually a pretty somber day. (My mom works for a kids’ bookstore, so I know useless trivia.)

  27. Kathie Says:

Party,? I shan’t be planning a party, I shall be eagerly awaiting the arrival of my book from Amazon, opening a nice bottle of wine and box of chocolates and woe betide anyone who even breathes too loudly near me before that book is finished.

  28. Jules Says:

I CANT WAIT!!!! I already ordered my copy. July will be a great month with the movie AND book coming out. hurray :) I love your counter

  29. Amy Says:

Did you hear about the young man that stars in the Harry Potter movies and his new role on the London stage? He will be naked and he’s only 17.

  30. CPA Mom Says:

Oh yes, I preordered it already, super saver shipping, for a whopping $18. I love me some Harry Potter. But, I too am sad, it is the last. At least we have the movies to look forward to. And Snape’s extremely painful death I hope.

  31. Jenny H. Says:

Where did you order it for that?
