Deathly Hallows Cover Art Released

I find ever news tidbit about the last Harry Potter book both intoxicatingly exciting and depressingly awful all at the same time. I’m completely torn between thrill and loss. Either way – the cover art has been released. See the Today Show coverage here. I’m very excited but there have been a few moments where I felt the tears coming a little bit. I’m not ready for this to end.

My heart just jumped out of my throat. THE EXCITEMENT! I am so invested in this, it might be a tiny bit sad. Please Harry, don’t leave us yet!

  2. Nienuh says:

I feel exactly the same way. I just finished book 6 for the third time, and i’m in mourning, denial about dumbeldore dying. Again! The thought of two other main characters dying already tears me up. Who will it be. Ginny and Harry? Hermione and Ron? And the thought of this being the last book. I keep pushing this away. I just hope J.K. will be able to write it all down in a way that i can accept it!

  3. CPA Mom says:

Truly, I weep when I think of the end. WEEP!

  4. Floyd says:

Y’all aren’t the only ones crying. This is going to suck.

  5. Jan says:

I love these books. And, as a librarian, I am still astonished at the impact they have had on children reading. You wouldn’t believe the number of students who want a book “like Harry Potter” and have been open to suggestions about a variety of fantasy and science fiction books. It is sad to see the series end, though. As a reader, I always want to know – what happened then??

  6. Laura says:

Any thoughts on where it looks like they are? Is that the Colosseum?

  7. junkie says:

Aaaaackkkkk!!! i’m right there w/ you, girl!

oh, and i actually will be right there w/ you, girl! :)

  8. Janet says:

I got the shivers when I read that JK Rowling’s American editor “sobbed and sobbed” while reading the book…oh, I can’t WAIT!

That is a spooky view of old Voldy…

  9. Likalia says:

I think I might like the cover you, non-Canadians, get better than ours. Though I buy the adult format covers anyway. The cover for the kids version in Canada seems very busy to me. Yours is nice and simple.

Here is a link to the Canadian covers.

  10. Jenny H. says:

GAH! The torture of it all… I am deeply saddened by it all, as well. sigh…

And at the same time? I AM NEVAH GOING TO MAKE IT UNTIL THE THIRD WEEK OF JULY!!!!!

  11. Jenny H. says:

Too many “all’s”. Sorry about that y’all. GAH- there was another one!

    Shutting up now!

  12. baseballmom says:

OMG, I’m cryin’ too. I bawled so badly reading Dumbledore’s farewell speech to Cedric Diggory, my son thought I was nuts, so it will be interesting to see what happens with this one!

  13. elena says:

I’m excited yet sad too! Here’s a good question for you (and will allow you to think about something other than THE END): If you had access to polyjuice potion, how would you use it?

I don’t have a good answer yet, but if I think of one, I’ll be back…

  14. Teeny says:

#10 – that’s the same cover art we get here in the UK and I thought it was a bit much as well. The american one’s definitely easier on the eye…

I’m also alternating between being hugely excited at finding out what happens, and totally traumatised about it being the last ever Harry Potter… #sniff#

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
