Zoot and LilZ HP and the Chamber of Secrets

DO YOU SEE THIS? This picture showed up in my “random” section on my sidebar and I about had a heart attack. LilZ used to be so short! He’s taller then me now, you know. I’ve not taken any photographic proof yet, but he is. (He’s even taller now than here, and he was as tall as me then.) And he has giant feet. And his voice is changing. It’s killing me. I’m totally not ready for him to grow up. MAKE IT STOP.

Although, with age comes some skill sets. Like he can now get the toilet paper down for me from on top of the cabinets in the laundry room. (Isn’t that where you keep your toilet paper?) He can also change light bulbs, carry in heavy groceries, and carry his sister around on his back. She tries to get me to do the same by going, “Ba! Ba!” - but she is totally on crack because I’m too old for that shit.

I’m looking forward to other perks of the older child: Running errands once he’s driving. I’m totally looking forward to humiliating him with a, “Get to the store, Mamma needs tampons!” command while in the company of a pretty girl. Or even better - the default designated driver. I mean - MrZ and I will both be able to drink once LilZ is 16. He can drive our drunk asses home anytime! How awesome will that be? TOTALLY AWESOME.

When I reached 16, i was forced (for real) to stay home one night per weekend to babysit my brother for free, and be “on call” if I had to pick my parents up from the bar (wow - that sounds so white trash) 12 years later and I am still pretty bent about that one. It’s ok though, on the nights I had to stay home I had people over because I knew my parents weren’t comming home until at least 12. Joke ended up being on them :) (lesson to you!!!)

BTW - Lilz was such a cute kid, but now he’s such a handsome young man - you better watch out. I have a feeling there will be many girls calling the house asking you were he is and if you think he really likes them :)

Aw, he’s practically a baby there! If it seems like not that long ago to me, I can only imagine it must’ve happened in the blink of an eye for you.

Awww man, I know exactly what you mean. My oldest son is taller than me, stronger than me, and weighs more than me. But he is VERY good at carrying heavy things. That I love.
