That last video reminded me of the other funny thing that happened at my first marathon:

I ordered one of the “official” photographs they take at various points in the race. It was about mile 12, and I look great: I’m smiling and waving, not too sweaty, my form is still good, generally look like I’m just out for a Sunday jog. But the guy in front of me is bleeding from the nipples.

My husband saw it and said “that guy ruins your picture!” and I told him “are you kidding? he makes the picture! he’s BLEEDING from the NIPPLES and I look great. What an ego-boost!”

Jesus Camp should interest you precisely FOR your heathenism. My heathen husband and I watched it a couple months ago, and it was fascinating. Disturbing, but amusing at the same time.

Congrats on the marathon!! You’re an inspiration!

Jesus Camp is one of the most fascinating – and frightening – documentaries I have ever seen. The words “child abuse” kept going through my mind…

  4. Jesus, God, let the Camp fade to black already. I’m a little to geographically close to that brand of crazy for comfort. Scary, scary stuff.

(Re: marathon – You ARE inspiration. To the n-th power.)

Zoot – on the SB400 flash, can you point it up like the speedflash sb-600 or 800?

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
