Attack of the perpetual stomach bug

I had to pick up NikkiZ from daycare yesterday because she started puking again. The fever is still gone, her mood has improved, but she pukes when she eats too much. And she was still having the not-normal diapers. In other words? We can’t send her back today. She’s watching TV now which is indicative of how she’s feeling since she NEVER watches TV. (I know. Not. My. Child.) We’re beyond ready for her to get ready. I did two loads of laundry yesterday just so I could wash things like bedsheets and changing pad covers. AGAIN. Not to mention dirty towels and clothes. Evidently this bug has lasted as long as 10 days for some kids. Which, you know, is AWESOME.

MrZ went into the office this morning and is going to come back so I can still get my post-marathon massage. This is very nice of him because I really did not want to have to cancel it. Although I think he’s probably hoping it will help me walk a little less awkwardly because he’s kinda embarrassed to be seen with me in public in this current condition.

I never thought I’d be hoping for a giant diaper full of real poop before, but I totally am.

Sorry for your troubles. We had this back in February with Fuller. We stopped dressing him in his clothes and put our old t-shirts on him because it was easier to change his nasty diaper or swap out if he puked. He once fell asleep standing up and leaning on a chair because that is what made him feel better.

My son had this bug 2 times within 4 weeks. I wanted to kill myself. I know exactly what you mean about wanting to see a normal poop.

Here’s to a normal poop & everyone getting back to normal.

I hope she starts feeling better soon!! and will hope that no one else gets this!!

enjoy that massage today…..I could use one of those.

I hope she’s better soon. I know how stressful this can be. I’m not sure which is worse, not being able to move or having to move to clean up a sick baby.

Just keep an eye on her the worse is probably over with. Daycare has so many rules, if they didn’t let people bring in kids sick, then they wouldn’t have all these problems. We need sick daycares.

Enjoy your massage. Your very luck to have such an awsome husband.

Try giving her some yogurt. My Dr. recommends it when my daughter gets that. Something about the bacteria in the yogurt regulating the bacteria in the digestive system.

Hope NikkiZ is on the mend soon! And it stays away from you guys. Enjoy your massage!

Oh hon, we are going through the exact same thing. I am probably going to get fired because my daycare won’t take her with loose poops and she is still throwing up occasionally (when she eats too much, just like NikkiZ). Its awful to see them so sick, isn’t it?

my little god brother’s having that issue too…he keeps throwing up and grabbding at his ears. i hope the lil one gets better though.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
