It is a scary thought. I know everyone takes risks when riding amusement park rides but you never want to think something so horrific could happen. My family is suppose to be going to six flags in Arlington next month. I am pretty sure I will be extra protective on what my girls ride. BTW I don't know why but it really urks me that they didn't close the park down for the rest of the day instead of just the ride. I have been avoiding reading this story. It is a scary thought. It didn't. My 15 yr old son's class field trip was to that park a month ago. I know these are "freak" accidents and there are much more common and horrible things that happen all the time - but what kind of comfort is that?! That poor, poor girl!! I'm sort of obsessed with any report of an amusement park accident. I just cannot understand why anyone would want to go to one, never mind let their precious loved ones go on some of those obviously dangerous rides. But then, I'm a total ride wimp. I passed out on the matterhorn at Disneyland when I was 17 and have never been on another ride like that since. My heart goes out to that poor kid.
