As NikkiZ is learning to talk, we are learning to translate. And we are not the fastest learners at all. I bed she was saying, “Ice? Ice? Ice?” for three weeks before we finally realized this was her saying, “Outside?” As in, “Can we go outside to play, dear mother?” Of course, just when we realized that’s what she was saying - she changed it up and started saying, “Side? Side?” Come on, Kid. That one’s much easier to interpret. Why bother with the three weeks of “Ice?”
The other one is she’ll run behind the sink, point up and squeal as she goes, “Sike! Sike! Sike” in a very excited tone. This one was easier to figure out due to the context she was using it in. We put all of the recycling behind the sink and as it builds up, her and LilZ will take it out to the bin. She gets very excited when she sees, even just a few cans up there. She loves taking the recycling (sike!) out and if she’s crying, a quit, “Do you want to take the recycling out?” will calm her down.
Good thing Green is in right now. She can take her love for recycling and join the cusp of the movement. Of course, I don’t think they’d let her in as long as she’s still in disposable diapers - but we won’t tell her that.
Al Gore would be proud. And methinks she is saying ‘Psych!’ which is what I used to say when I was really excited about something (boy, I’m glad I don’t say that anymore).
And, I’m glad those are empties. When I first glanced at the photo, I was a bit afraid she had a mean caffeine habit already.
We thought Christopher was talking about some little girl named “Ashley” for months. Finally we realized he was saying, “Actually”.
Man…when did she turn to a little lady? Seems like she was so tiny yesterday…..
Just so you know? It took me three or four tries before I could read the whole post because I kept stopping to look at that child’s picture!!! Talk about stinkin’ ADORABLE!!!!
That’s so cute! I like that she looks like she’s RUNNING to take out the “sike”; it’s that important.
OMG. She is adorable. I love her hair. How did you get such a gorgeous and obviously smart kid? LOL.
That is ONE adorable little girl, and you’re SO BRAVE to dress her in white shorts! lol
