Today is Thursday!
Category: Adventures |

Since I’m only working two days this week, today is kinda like Thursday for me. Which makes a Monday less painful, that’s for sure. If every Monday was actually a Thursday, would Mondays ever really suck?

What the hell am I talking about?

Anyway - we’re going camping on Tuesday up in Tennessee. It’s at a campground - but it’s a cabin. Now, the cabin is nothing more than a glorified tent, so we still use the community shower (the most AWESOME part of campgrounds). But, it provides us with more space in our shelter in case it rains. Have you ever tried to entertain a toddler in the confines of a tent? Me neither. I never want to try. EVER.

So, for about 45 dollars a night, we get a BIG tent with beds and no linens. Much better than the ground. But, much cheaper than a hotel. I am promising myself that I’m not going to even look at a computer until we return on Saturday. MrZ is insisting on brining his laptop because there’s supposedly a hotspot somewhere on the property. I tried to tell him to leave it at home but he said, “What do we do if there’s an emergency? And we need information? Like a Map!”

Yeah. What did people in the old days before Google do on vacations if there was an emergency? I just don’t know. That was before my time. I guess they died, or something.

Lucky girl. I only have Wednesday off … and I’m contemplating coming into the office for a few hours.

Do people still buy maps these days?

    Have fun camping.

Holy crap, you guys are brave striking out on what must be the most busiest camping week of the summer. Better bring a book for that shower line!

Once when we went camping when Aidan was about NikkiZ’s age, as soon as we set up the tent, he started going crazy with glee and rolling all over the tent in hysterics and doing baby somersaults and stuff. It was one of the funniest damn things I’ve ever seen. And then I spent all night fantasizing about the coyotes I could hear howling in the distance busting in and ripping us all to shreds.

I have tried to entertain a toddler in a tent trailer in the pouring rain, and it is NO fun at all!!!

Ha! I don’t know how anybody ever got to where they wanted to go! How did they check where the closest Target was to their new house? How did they know the weekend hours of said Target? How did they know which movies were playing? Life must have been so hard! ;)

I had my only full day off - since I’ve been working from home - on May 26th. I was away from the computer that whole day -

I now have a laptop and am considering divorcing my husband for it….

Lucky. I wish today was Thursday to me. And yeah, these days I’m just glad when someplace I have to go camping HAS a community bathroom. If it has a shower, I call it the Ritz. Have fun, sounds like you’re in for a good time.

Are you going to a KOA campground? I know they have that type of a log cabin. At least you’ll have running water. :) If it is KOA, alot of them have internet access so you might be in luck..i mean..in case you get lost or something. Have a fantastic time!

We just went camping on Memorial day, and I took portable dvd player, the first day she was without a bike, and it was hell, we went back to get her bike. It did rain on us but not hard enough to warrant being stuck inside, the portable dvd player was somewhat of a good distraction.

Is it like a yurt? The big tent with beds but no linens?
