Kyla sent me the link to my AlphaMom interview (conducted by Leah who composes herself a lot better on camera than I do) from last year and I watched it with no sound and almost puked all over myself. (WHY DID I LOOK AT THE CAMERA LIKE AN IDIOT?) I can’t imagine how much more I’d hate it with the sound turned on (I hate my voice). So – why don’t YOU watch it and then tell me it’s wonderful (even if it’s not) so I can feel better. THANKS!

Why, you are absolutely lovely, Zoot! I think your southern lilt is charming, and I was actually surprised to hear the light accent. Duh. You’re from the south. I’d sound like a Yankee to you! Ha.
Thanks for sharing this. Seriously, no need to be embarrassed.
You did an excellent job. You are very well spoken and sounded very articulate and confident!!! HURRAY!!!
Thanks. I might brave watching it WITH sound sometime next year. Although – that makeup guy did a good job with my makeup, that’s for sure. I wish he would live with me.
You sound adorable! For some reason I forgot you would have one of those charming southern accents. You sound exactly like a friend I have in Alabama….which makes sense!
You look beautiful and sound adorable (though I could only watch a tiny bit with sound, due to being at work). And makeup can only do so much- that kind of gorgeous is just you, the makeup just makes it easier to see on camera.
You sound awesome! Way to represent us southern talkers!
I love you all! My Dad’s totally paying you to be nice, isn’t he? I finally braved listening to a bit of it – and honestly? Not too bad. I still hate my voice but I don’t sound as moronic as I thought. Thanks for being my guinea pigs before I mail the link to my parents. Heh.
You are RIDICULOUSLY charming.
You are so pretty! And I don’t know why you hate your voice! I love your accent!
Great interview, Zoot. I love that non-Southerners think that Southern accents are “charming.” Being from Mississippi/Louisiana, I worry about that sometimes. Your interview made me look forward to having kids and doing crafts with them someday … sidewalk chalk!
After watching that I seriously cannot not tell you how adorable you are! I’m a long time reader, long time lurker, but this interview clip was just too cute not to come out of hiding!
Also, I don’t know what accent these folks are talking about…they’d die if they came to Memphis!
You are wonderful! You sound knowledgeable and I totally want to adopt you and have you give me personal pointers all the time. And of course you look pretty!
You look and sound great.
And even though I’ve talked to you on the phone…your voice still surprises me!! You sound like such a “grown up” (and I mean that as a compliment.
Thanks for sharing.
(Seriously, you look fabulous! And had great things to say!)
I knew you were from the south, but totally didn’t expect the accent! Guess i just wasn’t thinking about it. But you looked and sounded great! I think everyone hates to see/her themself… i know I hate seeing myself on video.
I loved the interview! Listening to you makes me miss the South.
I have to echo the above comments, I know you are from the south yet I am always surprised by the accent. Which is lovely by the way, don’t hear too many up here in Canada.
You looked great and were so eloquent.
Very cool!
When you were talking about me and how I was stubborn, I was like “HEY! I am NOT !”, but then i realized it’s kinda true!
Great job momma!
Love,
LILZ!!!
See? It WAS great. Everyone thinks so. You’re a supastar.
Your voice is cute! I also (for some reason) didn’t think you sounded that “grown up.” BTW, my husband loves your accent.
I love your voice! I wish I had a sexy accent.
You sound ADORABLE. I haven’t been reading you for very long ( here have I been, right??) but I actually like you MORE since watching this.
And I’m totally sending you a video of me talking, just so you don’t feel so bad.
BTW- I love maps. I’m sure it can get boring, but wow! what a job!!
You were very poised and I love your voice! It was a great interview.
Honestly, this has been a fabulous week for us lurkers! First Amy, then Y, and now YOU! I LOVE it! You are so easy to listen too, so poised and proper! YOU ROCK!
Looking at that reminds me of BlogHer last year.
Good times, good times. Of course you both look and sound fabulous (like the rockstar you are!).
That was a great interview! Thanks for sharing. And for the record, I think you are an awesome parent… I only wish that when Fuller gets to age 11 or 12 that I would have as lovely a young man as your LilZ.
Okay, so you look absolutely gorgeous, totally composed and beautiful. You’re very articulate, and I really, really like you
Articulate and lovely!
You looked and sounded great!
Listening to what you had to say made me wish I’d had a mom like you.
Seriously. No foolin’.
This is going to sound VERY stalkerish, but:
There is nothing about you that I don’t love, Kim. You’re lovely and cool beyond coolness.
(I’m sittiing in a car across the street from your house. Don’t be scurred.)
Hey Zoot, I`ve been reading your blog for some time now, (I found your link through another site, International Marriage, What the heck is that?!).. and always find what you write inspirational and amusing and everything else in between! I though your interview was great!
Living in Japan (I`m Australian/Italian) and being married to a Japanese guy, it`s sometimes difficult to find such open discussions about life and kids..we are trying to start a family of our own and its always great to get insights into how others deal with all the bumps (and mountains) in the road.
Thanks for making my day
You were awesome!!!! I loved the interview you looked and sounds excellent!
Wow! You looked great – not that you don’t look great all the time…
eeeeerrr….
I’m gonna shut up now…
You are so well spoken and articulate. Great interview!
You are very pretty. Your voice is adorable. You are just one put together woman.
I also thought it was great. You sounded and looked adorable. You also seemed like a great and fun parent. (which we all, of course, knew)
I loved it, Zoot. You look great. You seem so confident and happy, your husband and children are really lucky. Yep, you do have a southern accent, which I love, but it’s not nearly as pronounced as mine. Listen to all of it, you should be proud.
That is a fantastic interview! You are so well spoken on every question! You look great and I love your voice! Wow it is amazing that you are one of the first people I met when I started blogging and it is so very cool to see how far you have come with your blog, the designs, your family and job! And yes the 26 miles you ran! Keep on being Zoot it’s working well!
#1: Your makeup looks fantastic!
#2: You talk like me! Yeah!
How frickin cute are you! You should be very proud, you rocked it! You were sweet, funny, so likeable and very well spoken. I love your accent! I need to get me one of those. ;o)
I watched while folding laundry. You were great. You looked good and sounded like you knew what you were talking about.
You sound so put together, intelligent, and refreshing! Your accent is adorable and I love the necklace.
Great job Leah and Zoot: I really enjoyed it.
Oh my lord, your Southern accent is just too adorable! You sounded great–very articulate! And you looked gorgeous, damn you!
You look and sound great!
But I know how you feel. Hate, hate, hate my voice!
Your accent is so cute, I love it. Also, that top looks very lovely on you!
You did a wonderful job. You’re even prettier moving than in your pictures!
When I read your blog you didn’t have a Southern accent in my head…lol! Love it! You look great!
When you first did those quick little parking lot videos on here a while back, I decided then and there that I wish I could fall asleep every night with your voice reading to me. I LOVE your voice.
And I agree that you are incredibly articulate and well spoken. I also kinda want to be your new BFF, mmmkay?
LOVE your voice. Not what I expected, and very lovely. You and I have so much in common, as I am a HUGE Potter fan, and I’m also going as Tonks to the release party tonight.
Hey Zoot – you were very composed and articulate. I was also surprised by your southern accent – why? Cuz I’m an idiot! You did a great job. We all hate hearing our voices. We sounds so different than in our heads.
Aww. You’re so cute. And professional! I love your accent, by the way.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re beautiful (even more so on TV, I think) and your voice is the cutest. Well done!
You looked and sounded very confident and happy. Your family should be so proud of you. Yep, you do have a southern accent, which I love, but it’s not nearly as pronounced as mine. Listen to all of it, Zoot, it’s great.
What a nice interview! I, too, found you to be articulate. I love your voice, it’s very relaxing.
Great Interview! You did a fine job and were so VERY cute
You really did a fantastic job with that interview! It was nice to get more of a “sense” of you that can’t come across in the written word.
It was really great! You have a wonderful voice and represent all Southern speakers (such as myself) well. So much better than the lovely people they find to interview on the nightly news.
I thought you were great. Articulate and funny! I don’t know why I was so surprised by your accent, but it’s lovely.
You stole my thunder!
I’m posting this on the homepage of AlphaMom next week. I didn’t let you know about it because I am rolling them out daily and was going to surprise you the night before. You readers are like detectives!
You are awesome.
Isabel
So relaxed, so at ease. I would believe you were interviewed all the time!
I realize I’m totally late to comment on this, but this interview was fabulous. I’m not even a mom and I caught myself nodding my head to some of your parenting answers. And your voice isn’t horrible and you didn’t look like an idiot at all. I just HATE that I’m not coming to BlogHer this year to get to meet you, but I have a friend who will be coming and I told her to touch you for me…so if you get a little molested, I’m just saying, “Hi and You’re FABULOUS!”
