I promise, you’ll cry too.

(For those of you non-Harry Potter fans, I’m sorry I seem so one-minded these last few days. Thanks for not hating me for that.)

If you are breathlessly waiting for Book 7 and are scared to go anywhere on the internet for fear of being spoiled – I must encourage you to go to one place. JK Rowling.com. Click on the eraser on her desk and go to her office. For once, the door just opens when you click on it. No clues or games. Just open the door. She has written a letter of acknowledgments that you must read. I cried throughout the entire thing. She mentions all of the people who helped her in this journey and even though I know none of them, I felt proud for them as she sincerely thanked them all. And then the part to her daughter? Just read it. And bring tissues.

You don’t lie, it was a tear jerker. Ack…it hasn’t been released yet and now I am thinking, “I can’t believe it is over!”

    Why must things end?

  2. Stacey says:

wow. just wow. i am gonna go wipe my tears now.

  3. cagey says:

Thanks for the warning about needing tissues. *sniffle*

Also, I nearly had a near heart attack this morning. My friend went to get my wristband ticket thingie and Borders said they didn’t have me in their computer thingie. My friend had to get all “LOOK, she just had a baby, has been cooped up in her house for 10 days and this is the highlight of her week. Don’t do this to her”. She got my ticket. I owe her some chocolate, methinks.

  4. Floyd says:

Oh my goodness. Now sitting at desk with tears. Hope client doesn’t think this is all about her case. Yikes.

  5. Beth says:

Oh, yes! Oh, I sobbed. I am already a wreck — just not ready for this glorious ride to end.

What a gift she has given us ….

  6. Jenny H. says:

    I cried like a baby.

What will we do without Harry Potter?

That having been said, I am beyond excited about tonight!!

Let the countdown begin, or continue…

  7. Stacey says:

now I am crying for other reasons!! I just went to Amazon to track my book and it isn’t even listed as a order…not in my history or anything!!! HOLY CRAP!!

  8. dianabanana says:

    I nearly cried, too, eek!

I’m so excited right now, I literally can barely see straight … I think my eyeballs are going to shake right out of my head!

Just 11 hours to go … yay!!!

  9. Dawn says:

Okay, how the heck are you guys getting this to work? I saw it on Leaky this morning and tried to get in at that time, too, but the door won’t open for me.

When I first went to it, the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door. I went back to the desk, then back to the eraser spot again – and the sign’s gone. I couldn’t get the door to open, though – no matter how many times I clicked or where. You’d think the third, fourth, or even fifth time would be the charm, but it’s not.

That whole sequence happened both this morning and just now, when I tried it again. What is it that y’all are doing different?

  10. Dawn says:

Okay, never mind. As soon as I posted, it occured on me that I should probably try viewing it in Internet Explorer. ;)

I have to go find a tissue box now.

  11. Isabel says:

Thanks for sending me over there. What an awesome letter from J.K.

  12. baseballmom says:

OMG, I’m so emotional. Combined with the fact that I lost my dad on Monday, I burst into tears when I think about this last book even coming out. It’s almost like I didn’t want it to ever come, so it would never end…but then I’d be sad without it! Looking forward to Potter posts from you!

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
