If you’ll recall, I recently started watching the Gilmore Girls. You know, because I like to stay current and get in on fads and trends in the very beginning so I don’t miss out.

I’ve started season 2 now and am just a few episodes in. I’ve watch Lorelai and Max be engaged and have conversations scarily similar to ones MrZ and I had years before we got married. Which is why I’m glad they canceled their wedding. Anyone who has decided to marry someone that is not the father of their children knows that the step-parent role is not one that has been easily defined. It is different in every family, with every child, and it’s not something you just jump into. MrZ and I dated for 3 years before getting married. We lived together for a while before getting married, but we didn’t share a room. (I know. Seems weird. But we had our reasons which are lengthy and possibly unexplainable.)

Anyway - my point? Glad they didn’t get married.

My next point? It is very weird watching a show from 5-6 years ago because I keep seeing actors pop onto the screen that play roles in other shows now and I spend most of the time wondering what will be the thing that gets them off the show. Will they be dumped? Do the dumping? Will they be abducted by aliens or die at the hands of the evil robot warlord that takes over Stars Hollow?

Example? Jared Padelecki plays Dean in season 1 and so far in season 2 but I know at some point he must leave the show to chase demons as Sam in Supernatural, one of my favorite shows. And then last night (like five years ago) we met Luke’s nephew, Jess who is played by Milo Ventimiglia - my favorite brother on Heroes. It’s all very weird. Because I really don’t know what happens in the show since I never followed it, but I can kinda guess some plotlines because I know the actor moves on.

It’s a weird thing - is all I’m saying. Which is why I should have listened to you all years ago and just watched the show with the rest of the world instead of beginning with season 1, six months after the show ended it’s 7-year run.

Awww, one of my favorite shoes. I am so sad it won’t be coming back this season.

Shows, of course. Not shoes. :)

Look at it this way, at least you won’t have to wait during summer haitus’ (what’s the plural of that??) for the next season. When they leave you with a cliffhanger, you can just pop in the next dvd. Sweet!

Honestly, I am just dying to know why you stayed in different rooms.

It’s it great though that you can watch the episodes back to back to back. No commercials rules!

I have done the same thing with other shows that are no longer on TV. I love because there are no commercials and you can watch as many as you want at once!! Enjoy!!

I know I really identified with Lorelai’s character, having had a child very young too. I loved that show because it made me not feel so weird about being so close to my child I had at 18 years old. It’s just a different type of bond. You’ve slogged throught he trenches together, so to speak.

    Yaaaaay! Gilmore Girls!

    That’s all.

Ahh the best is yet to come … Just wait till you get to… well I won’t say it now, just tell us when your done.

I’m doing the same with Weeds now because we don’t get Showtime or Cinimax or whatever it’s on. But I saw it’s emmy nominations last year and put it in my queue for Netflix and its just now making it to the top. I went through Season 1 in two nights… LOVED IT SO FAR.

I envy the fact that you’re just starting the entire series. I wish I could have the experience of getting to know those characters all over again. It’s a good show.

  15. Michelle Says:

WHAT!?! Not coming back? At all? Damn…I move to Guatemala for a couple of months, miss the end of the season and will never find out what happened!

    I heart GG.

i LOVE gilmore girls. i have all six seasons on dvd because i am THAT obsessed. seven disappointed me a little, but i’ll probably get it anyway when it’s released…:)

i won’t give anything away for you… but i’d just like to say that i’m glad lorelai and max never got married either. i wasn’t ever a huge fan of max… and he’s not that attractive, you know? lol.

when i first saw milo as jess on GG, i was SO EXCITED because i had watched American Dreams with my mom religiously, and he had played Chris, Meg’s next door bad boy neighter, and i was IN LOVE with him. the only reason i started watching heroes was because of milo. I LOVE MILO.

that’s all. enjoy the rest of season 2!:)
