Woman! You have good beer in your neck of the woods, what are you doing drinking mass produced blech? At first I was going to froth a fit over grocery store beer but then I remembered in the Bible Belt you can get real beer in the grocery store. Out here in the West, we can only get 3.2 at the grocery and liquor stores are closed on Sunday. Wouldn’t want you mixing your booze & praying. But the bars are open, go figure.

Anyway – drink some Abita. It’s good stuff. When we were finally able to get it in CO there was much rejoicing by husband. We have tons of microbreweries here but we still love a Turbo Dog.

There’s the good neighbor beer rule, too. If you offer your neighbor a beer, he should take one or two, not the whole darn six pack. That’s just rude I tell you, rude. Also, said neighbor should not try to replace it later with beer of lesser quality.

I like most beer except for domestic light beers. I think my favorite has to be be Blue Moon with Guiness as a close second.

Clearly it’s time for old dorm room “put a post it note saying ‘this is not yours’ on it” strategy. Another reason why great big bottles of booze make the world go ’round here. Who can tell what came out of that?

The first post showed up in my reader as well… at first I thought maybe it was just the fault of all that beer.

I’m one of those people that likes the hefeweizen beers — light, smooth and usually well complemented with a slice of lemon or orange. My fave is the Sweetwater Hummer (formerly the Sweetwater Summer Hummer, as it was a seasonal brew), which is brewed locally here in Atlanta. Sweetwater 420 is the standard, which you might enjoy, Zoot.

I try and keep a sixer in the fridge most of the time, and then a bottle of Pepperwood Pinot Noir (really good cheap grocery store wine) on the counter — that way, we have options for beverages when I cook dinner.

We don’t keep beer in the house unless we’ve invited people over for a cookout or something. Mostly because I don’t like beer. However there is vodka in my fridge right now.

But when Thom goes out to the bar… he wants a Pearl. And if they are out of it, he gets mad. And he also doesn’t like to drink beer from a bottle. He likes it from a can. Good thing Pearl comes in a can.
