It’s ALIIIIIIIIIIVE!
I get up early in the mornings so I can do the housework I inevitably didn’t do the night before. Like dishes from dinner, or laundry, or the general picking up I like to do to keep toys in the toy box and avoid them ganging up together, staging an uprising, forming some sort of sentient being, and taking over my home – holding my family hostage forever. (What? Not a fear of yours?) I was in the middle of those things this morning, about to dive in on dishes, when I saw Four. Lights. On. The. Modem. FOUR LIGHTS! We have internet!
Our internet has been flaky since Friday. Actually – it has been flaky for awhile, but usually we can blame it on the router. But this weekend it seemed to actually be the cable as the lights on the modem were not all behaving as they would if the signal was coming through. Since this happens often and almost every time I call they say, “Area outage, it will be fixed momentarily” I just kinda waited. And waited. And waited.
But this morning there are lights! And the internet! And 52 emails waiting for me and I haven’t even looked at my work email account yet because I’m scared. And my blog! I can update the blog! Of course, now I am here and what am I talking about? My crappy internet. Three solid days of no internet and I pop on to talk about THE INTERNET CONNECTION. I’m Awesome.
I do have a lot to tell you about. Like – how I’m kinda’ depressed that Stace’s girls are back with her now that she has returned from Alaska. I mean – I’m glad to finally be able to be lazy and sit on my ass instead of pretending I’m a good mother who cooks and cleans and entertains. But I miss them! And LilZ misses the awesome Mom I was when they were around.
And I also have to tell you about taking NikkiZ to her first fair! But I can’t do that night justice without the pictures. And I also want to tell you about some awesome goodies a certain crafty woman sent me but again – those need pictures. AND! We bought a new car! AAAAK! Well – MrZ did because even though mine is currently without a/c – it is still the better car. But – AGAIN – must show the pictures first. And since we’ve had no internet – I’ve had no chance to upload pictures so all of these stories must wait. And you can only sit her and read about my crappy internet returning.
Oh – but I will tell you one thing. My TV Addict Site is finally back up and running. I think. I’ve done a few lame test entries and I think I fixed all of the broken pieces. I was planning on writing another Gilmore Girls rant over there at some point, but my internet was out all weekend. Did you know that? Have I mentioned that yet? Oh. Good. So, feel free to pop in as the fall season begins. And my favorite premiere of all? Ellen comes back on. She is the thing I miss the most throughout the summer. And today? She returns. And I can return to my yearly mission of being a guest on her damn show already. She always has normal people on because they’ve done something funny or cool or brave or interesting. Every year I try to find something funny, cool, or interesting (screw “brave”) but I never quite seem to get my foot in the door. But I have big plans this year people…this will be my year.
(Good to know three days without hearing from me didn’t change me from The Dorky Loser Who Needs A Life Already you’ve come to love, right?)

(Folds hands and looks up and says) Thank you God! She is alive!!
And yet, your post is still worth reading! I thought Google Reader was broken when I didn’t see any posts showing up from you – big relief to see you back in harness. I only wish I could be anywhere near as entertaining on my blog. Maybe I need to break my internet connection……….
We had a lot of problems with our router – then we got a new one
. I’m glad that your internet’s back!
Yay, you’re back! I was going through Zoot withdrawal, man.
It is a good thing I was away for the weekend, so I was too busy to check your blog. Glad I did not miss anything!
I missed you, too!!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets up early to finish the “chores” from yesterday evening! Glad you have internet again.
I wondered where you were.
Don’t ever leave me again…
