762732_46876396.jpgAre you a mom? Do you blog? Do you like free food? Do you live in or near Atlanta? Do you think spending an evening with me preparing food would be fun? Or: Watching me screw up food? That could be equally fun and probably more likely. Well – have I got an event for you!

On Wednesday, October 17th, I will be participating in a Moms-who-Blog gathering at a Super Suppers near Atlanta, GA. I am really looking forward to this and I hope several of you will be interested in joining me. I mean – free food! What more could you ask for? Hearing me ask stupid questions like, “Is this a chicken breast?” can only add to the excitement. Especially if I accidentally say, “Is this a chicken boobie?” like I do to get a laugh out of my family.

I would really love to meet any of you in the Atlanta area because this could motivate us to have our own little mini-gatherings in the future. I never quite feel like the southeast is represented enough at the big blog events – so here is a gathering we can have all to ourselves! Where no one will make fun of my accent!

So – if you’re interested – leave a comment or send me an email (misszoot@gmail.com) with your name, email address, and blog URL. If you come, I promise to bring you a present. I’m not going to tell you what it is, but I promise it will make you smile. And I also promise to hug you because I’m a chronic (and sometimes very aggressive) hugger. If you do not want to be squooshed by my hugging arms, please include that in the email/comment as well.

    Gotta share a quick story:

During a family vacation some 20 years ago, the fam stopped for lunch and ordered fairly routine food, including chicken breast sandwiches. When the food arrived, the (male) server walked up carrying many baskets of food, looked down and said, “I have two chicken breasts…”

I think my brother is STILL laughing. :)

  2. Heather Says:

That sounds like so much fun! I wish I could go! My mom calls chicken breasts “chick boobs.”

For the first time in my life I’m actually upset that I don’t live near Atlanta. It sounds like fun. Wish I could be there!

That sounds like so much fun! I’ve been wanting to try one of those places, although since I’m not a very confident cook it could be interesting. I wish I lived near Atlanta! Just in case you didn’t already know – did you hear that Lush just opened a store there?

Sad. I would LOVE to be there. But I live in Texas and don’t think I can really justify an airline ticket and hotel. Are you coming to SXSW in March? I’ll buy you a Shiner Bock is you come and treat you to ALL YOU CAN EAT AMAZING RIBS at the Salt Lick. Dude, you could host a meet up at the Salt Lick. All you can eat brisket, sausage, ribs, and fixins. Did I mention the ribs? :o )

I used a Super Suppers type service every month (My Family Dinners) and I love it! It has totally changed my life and seriously relieved a lot of the stress in my life.

I live only 2 hours away from ATL, but I don’t know if I could make it. Sorry!

  9. Kyla Says:

Dang. Texas is a bit too far.

  10. Amy Says:

No way I can get to Atlanta these days, but it sounds like fun. Now, I dont know what your schedule will be like, but I do know some good eating in Atlanta.

I used to make up excuses to go to Atlanta JUST to eat at Fat Matt’s. It’s on Piedmont.

You will love me for it if you go. And by all means, get the baked beans. I swear, if God made anything better than the ribs and baked beans, He surely kept it for Himself.

Okay, so I read mommy blogs, and I am a mommy, does that count too? I do live close to Atlanta, so I could be there, and it sounds like fun, but I do not fit all the criteria… so sad…

  12. Floyd Says:

Oh my! I’m so here in Atlanta and I’ve been soooo wanting to try one of those Super Suppers thing!

Damn back timing or I’d make it up there. We have an Entrees Made Easy here that I’ve been trying to talk the neighbor ladies into trying. Can’t wait to hear how it goes.

  20. Amy Says:

Yes, Jenny H, I am so jealous…sitting here picturing ya’ll sitting outside sipping cold beer on the deck at Fat Matt’s….(wipe that BBQ sauce off Zoots ear)….the rum baked beeeaaannns.

Zoot, are you bringing NikkiZ with you?
Between the squishiness of NikkiZ and the hickory smoked love/Sweet Baby Jesus in BBQ form that IS Fatt Matt’s, I would maybe have to reconsider making the trip.
