OMG. I am so awesome.

Do you remember that I’m a high-anxiety driver? How I plan my trips around rush-hours and left turns? Yes. Well, I drove to Atlanta today. AND SURVIVED. I was so scared. Luckily, traffic was light, otherwise I might be curled up in the fetal position on the side of I-85 right now. Of course, I planned it that way. I decided I’d rather get here a couple hours early than have to drive during/through rush-hour traffic.

The good news? I only have to take a right out of the complex to get to the Super Suppers place tonight. Thank God. If I had to drive into Atlanta and then take a left turn? I’d shoot myself.

I think MrZ is prouder of me now than the day I had an emergency c-section to deliver his daughter. He knows how big of a challenge driving is for me in general, much less in a big city. He was all, “Are you going to go explore?” And I’m like, “Only if there’s stuff to explore on the right side of the road.”

Way to go! I hate driving into scary big cities. We recently had to go up to Denver for my brother’s birthday celebration, and I got us lost at least 4 different times that night. It was so frustrating!

So I am super proud of you for not only getting to Atlanta but also for not getting lost. You rule.

I’m so scared of Atlanta driving that when we go visit the inlaws, I let hubby take over in Opelika. So I am very, very impressed!

I could drive to Atlanta, but I’d have to do a Google maps search and then check the “avoid highways” box. SERIOUSLY. I do not drive on the interstate.

LOL!! Glad you arrived safely. Rush hour traffic sucks to drive through. I don’t like me much either. Left turns don’t really bother me much, hehehe

  15. Melissa says:

Wow, Atlanta is the most difficult driving city I have ever been in. For a timid driver, managing to get around is a huge accomplishment.

  1. [...] so if you read Miss Zoot then you know how much she hates to make left hand turns. And I’ll be honest, I’ve always thought that was crazy. Or as she would say… [...]

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
