Last night’s most awesome event was sponsored by the National Dairy Council and 3-A-Day. Let me tell you - this is the best sponsor of any event ever because if they are there? So is the CHEESE. Lots and Lots of Cheese. We also had a toast with our glasses of milk and LilZ and I both emphatically requested chocolate milk. It’s an indulgence I don’t allow myself often enough. The women were all encouraging our consumption of dairy and I can not imagine something more welcoming than someone saying, “Here: Eat This.”
Oh, and did I mention the cheese? SO MUCH CHEESE. SO LITTLE TIME.
We took over the Super Suppers Decatur which was owned and operated by the most lovely married couple. They had a great facility and excellent staff. Let me just say this: MrZ and I could not own and operate a business together. Not without one of us ending up dead. They also were very excited about seeing all of our websites since we were all bloggers. Little did they know how awesome that was to hear!
At some point in time, when I’m less exhausted, I’ll transfer some of my pictures to show you. I also want to tell you about each of the meals as I devour them throughout the week. But for now? How about a simple list of participants. If you eat at the home of any of these women in the next week or two, and they say they’ve slaved over dinner all day? Don’t believe them.

Again, wanting to cry. I cannot believe I got the dates wrong. I was really looking forward to meeting everyone.
And god nows I love me some cheese.
*sigh*
Did you bring home some cheese as well? Mmmm…cheese. It’s not just for grilled cheese any more. I actually had some chocolate milk today. I haven’t had that in ages and it was so good.
It was almost like I was there in spirit! Can you tell me a little more about the event? I’m just curious why the Dairy Council sponsored the event (I work for a sister organization in the northeast).
Hey Ms. Zoot! It was so nice to meet you over the Meatless Lasagna last night. I still think that you and your son look like brother and sister rather than mother and son. What a nice son you have to tag along as the photog!
Happy eating!
Now?! I am positively GREEN. I cannot live without cheese. I hope you took lots of pictures of the cheese for me … I mean us.
You are going to LOVE this one - after you left, we found out that that cute owner of Super Suppers is from Huntsville!! AND, the Super Suppers in Huntsville? It’s owned by her sister! Who’s just like her! You HAVE to go and report back.
HMMMM cheese. I am a cheese whore. I love it. love it. LOVE IT. I am gonna have to go have some cheese now.
It was so nice to meet you last night! Wasn’t it an awesome event? To be able to meet great people, drink delicious sangria, eat cheese AND talk about our blogs — what more could you ask for?
Oh my gosh! I just read your post about your daughter’s strong gag reflex! We go through the SAME thing. The awesome thing about Punkin is that when she cries a lot, she will also throw up then! STILL! YAY! Good times, good times.
I so wish I could’ve gotten out of teaching my dance class last night to come join you, Zoot. I’ve been wanting to meet you for ages (way back when I was just a wee lurker), and the fact you were mere miles from me, and I couldn’t get there sucks.
Boo.
LOL - I thought you were in Decatur AL… not Georgia!
KNOWS. God knows.
Told ya I was upset! I couldn’t even spell!
Now I am super extra sad to have missed the original announcement. That’s even near where I live! I totally would have come.
:(
Was the chocolate milk from the Dekalb Farmer’s Market? They carry the most delicious and amazing chocolate milk I have ever tasted, EVER, EVER. I could drink a half gallon every 24 hours, except for the part where I would weigh 300 lbs.
Hi JP,
I can answer your question, since I actually helped to organize the event. The goal of the event was to show mom bloggers (because we know how influential they are!) in the Atlanta area just how easy and convenient it is to make family-pleasing meals that include nutrient-packed dairy foods. The National Dairy Council sponsored the event with Super Suppers because they both share the same philosophy that even families on a busy schedule can still prepare nutritious meals. Let me know if you have other questions!
Hey there! I’m very glad to have met you on Wednesday and glad to have discovered another SE blogger.
Read your port about driving in Atlanta — you must be a good soul to feel that way about driving. I should know; I’ve fought my way through Atlanta traffic for longer than I care to admit.
I wish so much that I lived closer to you all. I wanted to go sooooo badly. I never seem to live in the right area, lolol
