Nablopomo.

That is my new favorite word. I have turned National Blog Posting Month into a slang term. Sometimes as a curse word. Often times into a silly exclamation to make my son laugh. I just love it because it does not roll off the tongue easily. It takes guts to say “nablopomo” in random conversations, and I have those guts. I even added it to my dictionary in Firefox so that it no longer has a red squiggly line below it. That is true love.

I’m going to try to post 100 times in November since posting every day is not really a challenge for me. (Unless I’m puking, of course.) I only made it to 75 posts last year, but I’m determined to step it up a notch this year.

Have you joined the group yet? Here is the homepage where you can join the social community. Make sure to add me as a friend if you do! Here is where you go to add yourself to the blogroll. Make sure you do that because that is soon to be the Longest Blogroll EVAH, and you don’t want to miss out. Finally, you need to enter yourself under the Nablopomo category in the Blog Directory. And after you do, will you vote for me here? I’ll return the favor, thereby making the entire process pointless. But it won’t matter because we’ll all have a bunch of votes to make ourselves feel better!

It’s going to be an awesome month. Remember, if you’re scared you’ll run out of ideas, there are 100 ideas in a one-stop-shop for you to purchase. I bought this the second it was available and consult it often. Join the frenzy. Say it loud, say it proud…”Nablopomo!”

Cool! I joined several weeks ago and have totally been a slacker about updating mah profile, putting up mah widget, etc. I am not sure I can do 100 posts, but if you are going to try, then so am I.

Because I love a challenge. And I am a lemming, too!

Also? I love the phrase “Pickle you, kumquat” from that gum commercial. I laugh everytime I see it. I am adding that to mah list of fun phrases to use.

  22. Jenny H. says:

Where is mah gravatar? I love those. Mah vote is definitely likey.

  23. zoot says:

@ JennyH. Yay! You’re joining in on the fun too!

  24. susan says:

Very cool – I think I’ll sign up, I was just thinking I need to spice up my posts and do more creative writing.

  25. Nancy says:

I tried to do all the signing up stuff…but it’s getting late, my nablopomo badge is funky, and I got an error message at that last site where I was supposed to vote – what is that site for again? /whining

    I’m calling it a night!

  26. JM says:

I’m offering that book as a prize to one NaBloPoMo participant. :) I’m hoping to put up an idea every day in November on Write Anyway.com as well.

I have a feeling this blog is going to get very amusing next month…

  27. mdv says:

Yes, I like the gravator idea. I will try to come up with one to use.

  28. Moogie says:

Well, I signed up for NaBloPoMo a little while ago, but now am on the blogroll, the blog directory AND I voted for you. :) I just wish I could figure out how to edit my tags. Now, I just need to see if I can figure out what my PayPal account is so I can get that book!

  29. Jamie says:

Read you everyday. Love your blog. I’ve been meaning to comment, but I just have never gotten around to it. Just wanted you to know you inspired me to join up for NaBloPoMo. So, wish me luck!

BTW, you have a great lookin family.

  30. Bunny says:

Ok, Zoot, I think I need a NaBloPoMo tutorial. I have a page, we’re friends and all, I’m in the blogroll. What is this directory thing? Do I have to come up with a new registration thing so I can get in there and then vote and be voted for and be in the randomizer? Am I already in the randomizer? Is this too much? Do you just want me to leave you alone?

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
