Stooooopppp Ittttt!

I was going to videotape NikkiZ reading her favorite book (this week) and of course, she got distracted. And of course, the video was still hilarious. The dogs were “playing” like they do all the time. To the casual observer it would appear some dog was about to get eaten, but to us, it’s just the annoying chatter that goes on around our feet. NikkiZ has learned this and has decided yelling at the dogs in her very commanding toddler voice is the way to go.

Nikki Z is the cutest toddler ever. Seriously! It’s so cute to see her with the dogs. And Miss Zoot, your accent is so darn cute too!! Lots of cute. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Nina says:

She is just so sweet! It really makes me miss when my girls were little. ~sigh~

  6. erin says:

Oh, how sweet. She is such a precious girl, thanks for sharing. Just imagine what’d she say if she saw my chocolate lab and Great Dane playing the way your dogs play. It gets very loud in my house sometimes.

Gawd, this is our house. Only my toddler is only 18 months so not quite as much language (or at least not that most people could understand). But the dogs and the toddler yelling at them and the pointing at the kids in the book w/commentary, (we have the same book, but we get “uh oh” instead of time out). Oh, and it’s the cats who are chasing each other on the furniture (dog isn’t allowed on furniture) but once they hit the ground then the dog’s in the game too. Toddler is yelling “no” and “out” pointing at them all. I love it.

Nice to know we aren’t the only crazy people around. :0)

I”m with Mieke, I love your accent too, and NikkiZ’s voice is SO CUTE! I miss those days. We have the dog noise, but it’s the younger one trying to play with the older one, and the older one growling at her to STOP IT!

  10. Jezer says:

LOVE it! She talks so well, and I love all of the time-out references. Smart baby!!

OMG!! So adorable Zoot. She’s so beautiful and smart. Loved the playing puppies too, lolol… But I have to ask… Who goes on time out? lolol

  14. Stacey says:

okay how did you do it? Whenever I read to the 4 year old I babysit…we don’t make it very far…especially if he is flipping the pages…she got almost all the pages!

  15. Eugenia says:

Oh my word…who is that child? and where did the baby go? It’s been a minute since I have came by the blog but holy moly that child has grown! So cute!

  16. angie says:

sooooo cute! I just want to eat her up! But…I was so surprised to hear your southern accent! I know you live in Alabama and all, but in my mind your voice isn’t southern at all :)

  17. Moogie says:

I love it. She really loves being read too…that is so much fun. I love how she ordered the dogs around. It’s just like that in our house. The dogs “play” and sound like they are fighting. I’m so used to it that I forget others who aren’t think they are trying to kill each other.

  18. Tifany says:

I loved watching that!! You sound a lot more southern than the voice I have for you in my head LOL. I hope that doesn’t sound crazy. NikkiZ is the cutest!! The dogs chasing each other around was hilarious.

  19. mdv says:

Adorable. I have a wee crush on your dogs now ;-)

  20. Becky says:

    She’s adorable.

  21. Kristy says:

I just have to delurk to say….she’s beautiful. I’ve delurked before but I’m usually silent. I love the way she pushes her pretty hair away from her face. And as a lover of books….I love that she already loves them!

  22. Your kids are so damn adorable!

  23. Jem says:

Aww even NikkiZ has an accent! (to me anyway, I’m from New Zealand)

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
