November 27, 2007
Well - since my TV site is having technical difficulties - and since I need topics to hit the 100 entry mark at the end of this week - I thought I’d talk a little about TV for a bit.
New Shows This Season That I’m Still Watching
I started with several shows this new season, but I’ve only stuck it out with a handful. Here they are:
- Chuck - Chuck Bartowski is my new Seth Cohen. I love him dearly.
- Reaper - I know the critics say it’s not gone anywhere great since the pilot, but I love every episode and anticipate the “vessel” each time.
- Gossip Girl - It’s my guilty pleasure. Shut up.
- Aliens in America - I’d follow Luke from Gilmore Girls anywhere. Lucky for me, this show makes me laugh.
- Samantha Who? - I started for the Pamie but stayed for the Sukie.
- Pushing Daisies - I forgot this the first time, thanks Karin for reminding me! I love this show!
Old Shows That I Newly Started Watching This Season
- Ghost Whisperer - I know. I know. I used to hate her. But now I love her. I’m sufficiently ashamed.
- American’s Next Top Model - Why has it taken me so many seasons to finally listen to your suggestions? I love this show.
- Torchwood - It’s old in England, but new here on our BBC channel, so I didnt know what category to put it under. Either way, I LOVE THIS SHOW. It is possibly the one I look forward to the most every week. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
Old Shows That I Still Love With All My Heart
- Bones - This show just seems to get better and better. It is the best ensemble on television, in my opinion.
- Heroes - I know everyone else in the world hates it right now, but I kinda love it still.
- How I Met Your Mother - SLAPSGIVING. Enough said.
- House - Although I miss the old team.
- Friday Night Lights - Coach Taylor is still a frequent member of my dreams. Yum.
- Numb3rs - The plots of this show are ridiculous the way they to try to connect FBI cases with math, but the characters are so great I still love the show.
- Las Vegas - I miss James Caan, but Josh Duhammel is still pretty.
- Criminal Minds - I’m not a fan of the addition of Joe Montegna on this show, but I still watch it religiously.
- CSI - I’m so glad to see Sarah Sidle go that it hurts me.
- Ugly Betty - Amanda and Marc are my total BFFs.
- The Amazing Race - It’s all for the Phil.
I’m sure there are others I’ll add as I remember them. So, what are YOU watching?

Faithful watcher of The Office, ANTP, Top Chef, and Project Runway. Although I still cannot pass on the reruns of Seinfeld and Raymond…
So GLAD that everything has worked out with this pregnancy. I have been really hoping that it would work out this time. Congrats!
New Shows: Big Bang Theory, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, Samantha Who? and my favorite new show of the season: Moonlight. Love! It!
Old Shows: How I Met Your Mother, Heroes (but it’s starting to get on my last nerve), NCIS, Ugly Betty, Numb3rs, Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, Las Vegas, Project Runway (so glad it’s back!) and probably something I’ve forgotten.
Arg! You’re glad to see Sara go from CSI??? My dh’s heart is still broken - lol.
Altho, of course this means I’ll have Gil Grissom for my very own one day:)
Many congrats on the wee one - hang in there!
Mon-Chuck, Heroes; Tues-The Biggest Loser; Weds-Bionic Woman; Thurs-My name is Earl, 30 Rock, The Office, Scrubs, ER; Fri-Deal or no deal, Friday Night Lights I used to watch Las Vegas, but the time was changed to 10 and I have the long weekend work hours
On some Weds and Fridays, my AHL team is playing and I miss some shows listening to the game.
I’ve been toying with the idea of watching Life, but haven’t yet…
I am also VERY glad to see Sara Sidle go. Why does she annoy me so? I don’t know. I’m just glad I don’t have to look at her on that show anymore.
You know I could talk about TV until I was blue in the face. LONG LIVE TV.
I love Project Runway and am so glad the new season started. I also LOVE HIMYM. Dude, Barney is the new Seth Cohen.
Also, we like Rules of Engagement. But only for Puddy.
The Office and 30 Rock are a MUST.
Nip/Tuck is always a naughty pleasure.
I have fallen in love with Journeyman and Pushing Daisies.
I gave up on The Practice and I deleted all the Chucks and took it off my dvr before watching any of them.
And I can’t get enough HGTV. It’s like crack.
Of course I watch more shows than what I just listed, but I try to seem not so obsessed. Of course my comment is just below Isabel’s and you know how much we love tv.
I like Chuck too. Have you seen pictures of that actor not in dork mode? Yummy. Also, you might want to check out Dirty Sexy Money sometime if you get the chance. It’s good.
Where’s my comment?! Damn. I had a good list too.
Crazy in love with Chuck. I got Andy sucked in to this one, too. But still can’t wait for 24. It’s my all time favorite!
I am watching all of the shows on your list of old shows you are still watching plus Ghost Whisperer from your other list. I can’t believe you aren’t watching Notes from the Underbelly!!! I think that show is hilarious. I also watch November Road, The Closer, and Saving Grace. In the spring I will watch Lost, Jericho and The Shield in addition to those shows and maybe just maybe I’ll watch One Tree Hill. Does this list make me look like a loser who never leaves the house? Nevermind. Don’t answer that….
I too watch Chuck and Reaper but also watch Moonlight. I also started watching Boob Whisperer, I mean Ghost Whisperer.
House, Law and Order: SVU, and 24 on discs. I can’t handle the suspense.
I’m not watching anything from your first two lists, but we are certainly in sync on your last one. Heroes, House, Criminal Minds, CSI, and Numbers are all in my top viewing list. Thank goodness for “On Demand,” so I can catch all the CSIs and Numbers if I’m not able to be home for them (we are in the stone ages here; no TIVO).
OHMYGOD Luke from Gilmore Girls in on a show?? I’m catching up with all the old seasons of that and I LOVE Luke. I may have to watch that silly show just so I can see him.
Love Journeyman, Chuck, Private Practice, Stargate Atlantis (are we the only ones???), Smallville (again?? the only ones??)
Still Watching Bionic Woman and Reaper because my husband likes them. I would have already given up.
Still Love Bones (would basically watch David Boreanaz in anything after falling in love during Buffy and Angel), House (I miss the old gang too - it’s not the same), Grey’s Anatomy (but something better happen soon)
Yeah, we watch too much tv. But no commercials! Yeah, DVR!
I’m so glad you still love Heroes! I adore Heroes, and it’s basically the only show I watch with any sort of regularity (though I missed it this week so shhh) but WOW I love it SOOO much and it HURTS me when other people are jumping ship. So thanks for making my day
I LOVE with all my heart that Sara is gone from CSI. She was painful to watch. And, I love Mark SO MUCH on Ugly Betty. He’s too cute for words
Oh, The Big Bang Theory. You must watch the Big Bang Theory. Well, you don’t really have to, it’s just very funny in a geeky kind of way.
We are NUMB3RS fans too, though every week we miss the old theme music…”We all use math everyday”. Bones and House, yes. Samantha Who and HIMYM, yes. Boston Legal and Brothers & Sisters if only for the amazing Rachel Griffiths and Sally Fields.
That seems like a lot of television. Is that a lot?!
The Wiggles, Barney, and Fairly Odd Parents, whenever SpongeBob and Jimmy Neutron aren’t on.
Also - I watched episode 1 and 2 of Heroes (season 1). Why didn’t somebody tell me it was this good?
Football if the Steelers or Cowboys are playing.
I think that’s it. Too much happening with the kids right now.
I’m a big ol’ ANTM freak from season one. Actually, this is the first season I’m feeling pretty “meh” about.
It just finished its run. but I’m totally suckered in to Californication. And Big Love is about the greatest show ever. I’m still looking for something to replace those this winter.
i LOVE gossip girl!!!
and you should totally be watching “big bang theory” … it’s super fun.
Let’s see…
ABC- DWTS- Samantha Who?, October Road, Desperate Housewives, Brother’s & Sister’s, Dirty Sexy Money, Grey’s Anatomy and Ugly Betty if I’m home in time.
CBS- HIMYM, Rules of Engagement, Back to You and I think that’s it.
NBC- I’m not sure I watch any shows here anymore!!
FX- Nip/Tuck. Such a hot show. And definitely adults only!
Bravo- Project Runway- The guy with the freaky Flock of Seagulls haircut has GOT TO GO!!
And then of course, college football and the NFL.
Damn, I watch a TON of tv! That is only when my children haven’t taken it over watching Star Wars, like they are now!!!!!!
DIRTY. SEXY. MONEY.
I watch SO much TV! I never realized until I started listing it in my head.
I LOOOOVE Chuck! I heard that it may not be back..so if you love Chuck please send your support!!!
Chuck, Bachelor (grumble..stupid guy…grumble), Dancing W/Stars, Heroes, Notes from the underbelly, Amazing Race, Dirty Sexy Money, The Office, Two and A Half Men, Samantha Who, Extreme Home Makeover, ANTM, Project Runway
I know there are more..thats all I can think of!
My TiVo list is getting pretty short: Heroes, Pushing Daisies, The Office, My Name is Earl, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (done for the season) and Ghost Whisperer.
Shows I’ll always watch if I happen to run across them: Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters.
In January, I’m looking forward to Tin Man and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Let’s see HIMYM, Big Bang, K-Ville, Biggest Loser, Law and Order SUV (so happy Adam Beach is now on it. SO.FREAKIN.HAPPY Native boy doing good) Project Runway, Scrubs, ummm. That is it it I think.
Too many to list but new fave this year is Big Bang Theory. I want to make out with Sheldon but it would probably give him hives.
I started watching How I Met Your Mother this season because you said it was awesome and Neil Patrick Harris was on the Emmy’s Preshow on E! and I developed a crush on him. I watch America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway even though Tyra and Tim Gunn would die if they saw what I wore. I live in cargo pants and t-shirts. I also love The Office. I dumped Grey’s Anatomy this year, it’s dumb.
About the only tv I watch with any regularity is Law & Order (original, SVU, and Criminal Intent) re-runs and Food TV.
I have caught a few episodes of Without a Trace, The Closer and the Holly Hunter shows. If the timing is right, I could get into those too.
Torchwood! You watch Torchwood! I love Torchwood! My husband hates it and my kids are too young to watch it (which upsets them as they are MAJOR Dr Who freaks). If you are ever in Edinburgh, Scotland (unlikely I know but I can live in hope) come over to my house and watch hours of Torchwood! (I love John Barrowman too. In a totally platonic way, obviously)
Coach Taylor is MINE! Mine, I say! You can NOT have him!!
FNL is my number one show of all shows that I do not miss for ANYTHING. Well, almost anything.
I, too, love Chuck. He is the awesome. Pushing Daisies rocks, though I am behind a few episodes. I have a date with my DVR very soon.
Slapsgiving was GREAT! I love my HIMYM.
Oh, I am so glad there is someone else besides me and my husband who still loves Heroes!
I am so glad you finally talked about TV! I miss your TV site.
Happy watching..and now I am late for work. Gotta run!
Oh, and one more thing..good riddance Sara Sidle. It feels good to say that!
Aliens in America is awesome! I love Pushing Daisies, too. And I agree with you about Criminal Minds (bring back Gideon!) and Sara.
I’ll watch House and Bones if I happen to remember they’re on and I’m not busy. I watch L&O: SVU and L&O: CI if I can keep myself awake for them (CI doesn’t come on until 10 PM! That’s “late” for me now). I’ve kind of given up on Journeyman. It’s got what I call “Dead Zone syndrome,” wherein I start watching an episode and quickly lose interest. Shame, because I love Kevin McKidd and I really want to like this show.
My only “must-see TV” right now is Heroes and the (awesome, adorable, please don’t get cancelled) Pushing Daisies. Which you should be watching. Like, right now. I’m serious; I think you can still see full episodes at ABC.com?
And of course, Lost when it returns. In 2008. 2008!
I try to keep a list of shows I’m watching on my blog. I think our tastes are similar. I also love Reaper. I got my husband watching it as well. He thinks Sock is hilarious. My guilty pleasure is the Real Housewives of Orange County. LOVE that show.
Here are my comments like you totally care… great idea for a post I’m totally going to make my own list.
Chuck – Watching it but feeling like it’s getting old, not getting the Seth vibe except that he’s got a crush on Summer.
Reaper – Never heard of it..
Gossip Girl – OMG I sneak this online so no one knows I love it.
Aliens in America – Again never heard of it… will have to look it up for some Luke action
Samantha Who? – Meant to watch but missed the first and never got it on the Season Pass list, maybe they’ll do repeats with the writers strike
Pushing Daisies – Again, liked it in the beginning but it seems to wearing thinner as time goes by. I swear he totally touched her in the last show, I rewound it like 10 times.
Ghost Whisperer – Too funny, hate her and never watched until last week… for some reason a scene caught my eye. Felt like I didn’t know enough history to get into it.
American’s Next Top Model - I totally schedule my trips to the gym so I can watch this while on the exercise bike.
Torchwood – Must find this on BBCA
Bones – Never watched
Heroes – Watching cause the Dr loves it and I don’t want to be the only human on the planet that doesn’t know what’s going on but I could live without it.
How I Met Your Mother - Amen
House – Like the new team better although I was totally disillusioned a couple of weeks ago when they thought a patient had MS and they said totally stupid things about possible treatments.
Friday Night Lights Never watched
Numb3rs – Charlie is Seth Cohen for adults.
Las Vegas – Guilty pleasure
Criminal Minds – Don’t watch
CSI - Gave it up years ago but the Sarah thing is good news.
Ugly Betty – Can’t seem to get into this year
The Amazing Race – Better than ever this year!!!!!
Delurking to chime in on the Torchwood love. I think my favorite episode was “Countrycide” - It had a very X-Files feel to it.
And you should check out Doctor Who. It’s fab.
Moonlight! I love this show! Aliens in America is damn good, too, and of course Reaper never fails to make me laugh!
“Chuck” is the best show on television right now! I love it more than anything on the planet! And, I wish I could watch “Torchwood”, but I don’t have BBCAmerica. Luckily I’ll be getting season 1 on DVD in January!
We love Reaper and Pushing Daisies, too! They both are consistently great, week after week, in my opinion.
I share your feelings on Las Vegas and The Amazing Race completely.
I’m watching more TV than I have in years.
We like The Amazing Race, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, House, Boston Legal, Life, Ugly Betty, and Grey’s Anatomy.
Life (Wednesday on NBC) is possibly my favorite show right now.
Um, wow, how to follow that comment?
I am so sad that you are happy to see Sara go, I am not sure I can even read you anymore! Seriously though, I don’t get the Sara hate.
d&$n bravo … the thanksgiving marathons now have me hooked on the absolutely worst (read best) housework television ever … housewives, project runway, I couldn’t live without channel 63 anymore!
Love the monday night himym lineup and thursday grey’s anat. lineup. Other than that, it is whatever hubbie has on at the moment!
We watch a ton of the same stuff.
New shows, I love Chuck as well, and Gossip Girl, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, and Dirty Sexy Money. Oh, and Samantha Who. Which even my husband thinks is funny, and we never share tv taste.
Slapsgiving was THE best episode of tv I’ve seen in a while. I can’t stop watching the clip & music video on YouTube. (Please tell me you’ve seen the music video.) I watch all the usual suspects too, CSIs (all 3), Without a Trace, Amazing Race, Bones, House, Grey’s, Numbers, Las Vegas, etc.
