(I know. It’s wishful thinking.)
I really hate to write this entry knowing how many of you are suffering under ice right now, but I have to. So, if you’re cold? Don’t read this.
We had a record-setting high yesterday of 78 degrees. Can you believe that? I was actually bitching at work yesterday about how I wished I had a/c in my car. IN THE MIDDLE OF DECEMBER. We discussed turning the a/c back on in our house last night. We didn’t do it (felt wrong), but we wanted to.
Don’t get me wrong, we typically have mild winters in Alabama. Few pockets here and there of freezing and cold, but mostly mild. But this? Seventy-eight degrees? Is a little ridiculous even by our standards. Our high today is 72°, but the rain is coming and we’ll be dropping temperature through the night. But even then, the high tomorrow is still 58°. That’s still a little warm even for Alabama. It’s almost freaky seeing people in sundresses and sandals while buying Christmas decorations. Now I know what my friend Scott feels like living in Tucson. (My brother lives there too but he travels so much it doesn’t count.)
Of course – I know better than to really complain. Because the second I do, we’ll get hit with the cold spell from hell and I’ll be begging for these days all over again.
I live in Richmond, VA and we had a high of 79 on Monday and it’s supposed to get to 76 today. Stupid global warming.
That’s it! I’m packing up my shit and moving in with the Zoots. You better warn NikkiZ cuz my dogs LOVE to bark.
Here too. Yesterday was 82, today’s high is 79. Yippie!!! *snarl*
It was in the 80′s here in Texas yesterday. It is really hard to get in the holiday spirit when you need air conditioning. Luckily it is cooler today. But it is supposed to be highs in the 70′s next week.
I hear ya. It makes it really hard to get in the Christmas spirit for sure. It isn’t normal to sweat so much in Dec. What really gets me is it will get cold here for about 2 days, then it warms right back up. My poor body is confused. Allergies are nasty….getting colds. yeah…good times.
I should have listened to you and not read this entry. Its 27 degrees here and I want to cry.
Up here in Maryland, it is VERY mild today. Not 78 mild, but 61! It’s pretty warm for December 12!
Hang in there DIL – Saturday and Sunday are supposed to start off in the 20′s and rise to low-mid 40′s.
I’m just glad it stayed warm enough so our rain was rain and not ice.
I have been sweating here for about 2 weeks. We have had only about 4 days of “cool” weather. I feel like I should at least be able to wear jeans in December, but no luck. It’s been to hot.
We hit 80 yesterday and are supposed to again today. I am totally not complaining. I love it! Poor me is going to Pittsburgh for Christmas tho, and I fear I am going to freeze.
Here in CT it went from 20 yesterday to 55 today… and tomorrow we’re expecting 3-6inches of snow and 22 degrees…
mother nature… she’s a fickle gal.
It’s 21 degrees here. We got 5″ of snow yesterday, on top of the 8″ from last week.
I’ll take about 25 of your degrees off your hands and we’ll all be better off!
I am insanely jealous…If it got into the 60s in Maryland (one of your commenters), why, oh why couldn’t it have drifted just a tad bit north and bless ME?!
I am right there with you. What the fook is wrong with this crazy weather? I am putting t-shirts on the boys. In DECEMBER.

It was 58 degrees here this morning, too. (In Maryland). However, when we got back from lunch, it had dropped to like 52, and continuing to get colder. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. (I agree, though. It feels wrong that I was over heated in my sweatshirt. =( )
The record-setting high in Louisiana yesterday was 83 degrees. Being used to snow this time of year, that is just unacceptable.
We had high’s in the upper sixties yesterday in Western Kentucky. We may not see a lot of snow during the winter but I usually don’t have to worry about sending my kids to school in t-shirts so they don’t get too warm. I also considered turning my a/c on last night since the house was warmer than we usually keep it at night. I left it alone though, and the temp was where it was supposed to be this morning. High of only 45 here today. Wish she’d make up her mind.
78 degrees? Stop showing off it, was minus 3 here this morning!
Its just cold here (35 degrees). And I like it. I hate the heat.
I’m begging for thos days right now, so I’m jealous.
I hear ya. Apparantly, Frantic Weather Guy on Channel 19 said we would get flurries this weekend… ??? But he’s all frantic and undependable.
I’ll just be happy to turn my air off again! (I was HOT and weak okay?)

I feel you, Miss Zoot. Especially since you’re pregnant. Pregnancy=hotness=badness.
Wow. I just don’t think that my brain would be able to handle having Christmastime be that hot! I’m away at my mum’s place for Christmas right now, and am weirded out a bit but the ABOVE freezing temperatures, and green grass! At home we had snow all week!
Hee! I was bitching the other day that it wasn’t hot ENOUGH. Luckily, it’s perfect beach weather today. Kisses!
That’s funny you mention Tucson. I was out last night having a beer and went outside to smoke (we can’t smoke in bars here). It was 37 degrees and cold cold cold. I thought to myself, “I thought I was in Tucson…”
Nice days, but those desert nights get you sometimes.
