Now I’m remembering why I had such a hard time committing to Best Shot Monday. Because, I take a lot of pictures of my kids. And that’s about it. I tried to take a few no-kid photos, but when I looked at them all this morning, I didn’t like any of them as much as I liked the ones with my kids. So – now I have this dilemma: I feel like I’m lame if I just throw another picture of my kids up. How does that classify as my “Best Shot” when I take a million of them every week? Is that even a challenger or even artsy? Will I be mocked mercilessly?
And now – I’m officially making TOO BIG OF A DEAL out of this.
Without further ado – I present to you – my best favorite shot of last week. I think the word “favorite” carries less intended meaning about the quality of the photo. I’ll go with that today.

NikkiZ is quite concerned with what she should be wearing every day. And not in the I want to wear a DRESS! vein, but in the I’m stubborn and want to do it MYSELF! manner of thinking. She just likes to pick anything out herself. She’s like her mother. Yesterday she wanted to wear that hand-me-down jumper she saw in her closet. It’s a little big so I found a solid long-sleeve shirt to go under it. She put the rest together herself. She loves her “Butterfly Jacket” but it’s too small and very light so I rarely let her wear it. I think the outfit came together quite well, don’t you? And I really love how she graced me with her best Stop Torturing Me! smile when I went to document the ensemble.
She is about the cutest thing! Her wrinkled nose smile just melts my heart. What a cutie. And great job on your best shot! Just jump in there!
Your best shot is your estimation and no one else’s, I’d wager. So don’t worry about that. Some people take photos of nothing but their cats… I think I’d rather look at your kids.

There is an overarching theme of “botanical garden” to her ensemble. Butterflies, ladybugs, flowers.. and the tights pull it all together. Too cute.
I think it is the shot that you enjoy. I take mainly pics of the bands I work with, and I think that I am the only one that enjoys those but in the end that is what matters to me!

Quit being so hard on yourself woman. You love your kids, nothing is more beautiful to you. Good for you, if only everyone with kids felt that way! I take thousands of pictures of my kids – sometimes I save 10 shots that look exactly the same to others but I just can’t erase even one because I see something special about each one.

Anyway, really cute picture. As Maya said, we all often post of our kids, they’re the best subjects! But I like to do other things too, as I did this week. My criteria for BSM is to put up what is, quite literally, what I think is my best shot for the week.

If you look at most of the Best Shot Monday photos… I think you’ll find a trend that is of Mommies showing photos of cute kids. That said… this is adorable! I love her wardrobe. Together… it’s an amazing toddler outfit. Separately… she has some really great pieces of clothing! And the wrinkled nose smile just completes it.
Been there, done that. I haven’t seen quite THAT smile, but I’ve seen some that are rather similar.

Very cute little outfit. We are going through a bit of a “do it myself” stage at our house too. That would be why Luna wore her PJs most of the day today. Except when she wanted to just wear nothing. Little stinker…

What’s my favorite thing about the pic? Not that you asked, but anyway… Hmmm, the bow? very cute (did you make it?), but no. The adorable, small-but-still-so-sweet butterfly jacket, um, no. The cute-as-a-button mary jane crocs, uh uh. The stylin’ polka dot tights, nope. THE LADYBUG JUMPER, OF COURSE! YES! LOVE IT!
