The first “official” Love Thursday at ShutterSisters is today and I was determined to participate. At first - I was planning some sort of lovely mother/daughter moment to photograph. Something special between the two of us. Then, I went grocery shopping. And grabbed a box of Oreo Cakesters off the end cap because my pregnant mind went, “Oooohhhh…heaven in a box! Must have!”
I came (I accidentally typed “cake” the first time - hee!) home and took one bite and decided I could die happy at that moment. I had found the most perfect food. Of course, I’m pregnant, so that will change tomorrow. But at that moment? Perfect food. As I went in for the second bite a little voice said, “I want a cookie, Mommy.” I debated for a moment between hiding the cookie and distracting her with Elmo, or just sharing it. It was a painful debate in my soul because those cookies were damn good and I had already decided I would hide them from the rest of the family before they got home.
However - I took the higher road and decided to share. Like a big girl. And as my daughter ate the entire thing before my eyes I thought, THIS is love.

She looks how I would feel if it’s delicate goodness were to pass through my taste buds. Sadly, for me, I feel that it probably doesn’t fit into “diet” food.
sometimes Love is just simple. I have some oreo cakesters I decided I would try’em, but if I dare eat them while son is awake I will lose mine too.
That is probably the sweetest picture ever.
And I’m totally jealous of NikkiZ’s Oreo Cakester. However, I don’t think my marathon coach would approve.
Omg…
Must find out how many points are in those little blessings from heaven!
I like the cakesters…but I would rather have a regular Oreo (or 12). NikkiZ looks like she is of a different opinion!
I’ve been really trying hard to keep those things from jumping into my grocery cart. I feel myself getting weaker….
I have been wanting to try those…but have resisted…so you shared with her..there is no need to share with the rest of the family.
Mmm, yes, those are awesome. They are very much like “whoopie pies,” which, I think, may be a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. But just picture the Oreo cakster biggie and with more cream in the middle and made by good, country women.
Awww. She’s a fairly neat eater, too … or maybe I don’t have enough evidence to go on here!
Seriously, Oreo Cakesters?! If I say PLEASE, may I have one?
We got a free 2-pack of Oreo Cakesters as a sample, and I gave one to the children and only ate one myself. I expect CROWNS IN HEAVEN for that one.
So after seeing that delicious picture, I got some of these at Target last night and holy cow are they amazing! I didn’t even look at the nutrition facts, because I don’t even want to know how many calories are in them. Maybe I’ll face that number when the box is empty and I don’t have to try to convince myself not to eat anymore while they’re sitting in my pantry mocking me.
