My Weekend of Car Chases, Shoot Outs, and Robberies.
(That title is for my brother who said it’s usually disappointing when he reads my blog every morning and realizes I don’t update as much on the weekends – but it’s going to be even WORSE when he checks in on Monday and it’s all just a recap of our weekend when he was there for.)
I had a great weekend visiting my family. It was too short and very busy, but it was great. NikkiZ loved her first trip to the zoo and summed it up for every one at dinner about it last night by saying, “I bushed Doats and I seen Sheep.” Evidently her favorite part was the petting zoo portion. Of course, that’s the portion with the big fake cow you could milk that my brother used as a weapon against me. Lucky it was just water or I would have totally had to kick his ass.
I’m incredibly worn out and these type of usually uneventful trips remind me how much being pregnant can take a toll on your body. Normally these rush weekend trips don’t phase me but last night I was beat to hell and back. And back again.
NikkiZ’s room is not doing yet, so she slept with us last night. It wasn’t so bad since I was so tired, I think I slept through all of the beatings she usually passes out in her sleep. She is awake hours early than normal today though. Which means some pregnant adult might be partaking of naptime with a certain adorable toddler.
Most of my pictures from this weekend have members of my family in them. Since they’re all total rockstars I try to spare them the embarrassment of having their face plastered on my blog. I will be putting some up on flickr as the day progresses though – keep an eye out for them!

are you forgetting you have a flicker block over there >>
I love going to the zoo!!
There was no car bombs this weekend?
I can’t wait to take Scout to the zoo! Which zoo do you go to this weekend?
I thought Nikki’s toddler bed was in your room. Will she not sleep in it? If Alliclaus was in our room, she would surely only want to sleep in our bed. And if it got me even ten extra minutes of sleep (especially when I was pregnant), I would take it.
I feel cheated. The Bronx Zoo doesn’t have a fake cow that I know of.
Sounds way more exciting than my weekend, which involved sleeping, cleaning kitchen counters, and staring at blank word documents while trying to come up with something insightful to write about. Sigh.
Just hearing about it makes me tired
