She’s in Charge of the Cable Bill This Month

Goofy
This is the look of pure EVIL

NikkiZ was in a crazy mood yesterday. Part hyper, part chatty and social, part INSANE. Of course, yesterday was the day of NINE MILLION ERRANDS. We have several birthdays this month and I wanted to get all of the monthly shopping done for that type of thing. LilZ also needs some shorts since the ones from last summer look like hot pants on him and that’s not the style this season. I tried to get a lot of the stuff done this weekend, but I remembered that everyone else was too. After about 15 minutes out this weekend LilZ and I both lost our patience and came home.

So, my Temporarily Insane daughter and I headed out early yesterday morning to work on our To-Do List.

First stop? TJMaxx where she charmed the pants off the cashier by saying to her spontaneously, “I’m going to be a big sister.” She’s never said that before so I was caught off guard and the cashier melted. She then confused my poor toddler by asking the difficult question, “Is it going to be a brother or a sister.” I think NikkiZ thought she didn’t understand the first question so she said, “SISTER.” Like, “Duh, woman. I just said that.” Before I could correct her, the woman asked what is the sister’s name? Which confused NikkiZ even more and she just said, “LilZ.” Which, when said by a two-year-old, LilZ’s name is not clear so it could be a girl’s name. I had to stop the conversation and say, “Actually. That’s her big brother’s name. Her little brother’s name will be AndyZ. NikkiZ, when will AndyZ get here?” “May!!!” she shouted. And the cashier asked if she could take her home with her she was so cute.

I gave NikkiZ to her over the counter and I’ve not seen her since.

Or maybe not.

She spent the rest of the day chatting up senior citizens everywhere. She charmed the pants off the guy smoking a cigarette outside a shopping center and do you know what he did? HE GAVE HER A QUARTER. He was probably 80+ years old and he noticed she was carrying her purse. (Pink frilly which went great with her tie-dye shirt and denim shorts.) He asked her how much money she had in there and she exclaimed, “I don’t have any money!” and threw her hands in the air so he could really appreciate the tragedy of the situation. So – he gave her a quarter.

She essentially spent the entire day acting like she was hopped up on cupcakes and sodas. But, unless she’s got a dealer on the side, she didn’t get any of that from me. It’s an entertaining mood for her to be in – for 17 seconds – but by the end of the day? I hat attempted to sell her to at least 12 innocent bystanders. They all declined thinking I was joking. I was too tired to try to convince them otherwise.

Completely random Biggest Loser comment/spoiler after the jump

Sidenote: Is anyone else as thrilled as I am that Kelli AND Alli stayed above the yellow line last night on Biggest Loser? I cried I was so happy for them both.

awww I want her energy and happiness!!

(I cried too when Kelli and Alli were above the line) I kept saying “just one pound!!” Alli was thisclose to losing 100 lbs on the ranch…a first for any woman. I want one of them to win SO BAD!!
Did you know Alison Sweeney blogs about the shows the day after? I know you can get the think through the Days of Our Lives site on NBC. ;)

  2. Christina says:

NikkiZ really cracks me up – I’m sure the people you encounter think she’s a riot!

I was so happy about Ali and Kelli too! I am so over Mark, I could barf. Seriously. Ali used to annoy the crap out of me, but once she came back to the ranch and had clearly been working her tail off at home, I started to like her. I hope she wins :)

  3. JP says:

    How cute is NikkiZ?

I don’t know who I want to win, and I don’t know who to vote for to send to the finale. But I do think that Ali and Mark look a lot older now that they’ve lost so much weight. I’m concerned with what they’re eating. Who loses 12 pounds on week 15?? Although it could be because they lost so little last week.

  4. Fraulein N says:

NikkiZ is hilarious. She could probably charm the cable people into giving it to you for free.

  5. mdv says:

I would be broke. She sounds like she would have charmed me out of my ATM card.

  6. jessica says:

Girl is like a year younger version of NikkiZ! Everywhere we go she is charming people and embaressing me to no end. I’m so happy to hear that it’s still well recived at 2.5. though I won’t lie, if my girl outgrew it tomorrow, I wouldn’t be too upset. nothing like striking up converstaions with strangers becuase your child screams “Hi! PEOPLE HI!!!!!!” until they answer then ignores them.

  7. Melizzard says:

Oh I just love this age when they are so cute. I want to eat FuzzyHead up on a daily basis. It’s great when they are in that mood and just bring joy to everyone they meet.

  8. Oh, what a sweet pea. Mine is finally being cute 80% of the time (with 20% pissy) rather than the opposite…carrying around stuffed animals, feeding them, talking to them, etc. And then we’re back to square one with the infants, aren’t we? :P

  9. Karly says:

I love NikkiZ. Cindy-Lu was in a mood like that yesterday as well. We went to the grocery store and anytime someone would look at her she would start giggling like a lunatic. One woman acted a little offended and said “Oh, I must look funny today?” Um, no. My daughter just happens to be 3 and is in a silly mood, you old bag.

And I was SO HAPPY for Kelli and Ali. I knew Ali would stay above, but I started bawling when I saw Kelli. That was awesome. I also got online and voted for Roger, which was a really tough decision, but I went for him in the end ONLY BECAUSE he was the cuter of the two boys. I really couldn’t decide between them any other way…they’ve both grown on me.

  10. Sarah says:

Yeah, your kid is cute and all that jazz. ;)

But BIGGEST LOSER?!? OMFG, I totally cried. And actually threw my child IN THE AIR AND SAID, “We did it, Tony! We did it!”

And I resisted the urge to jump online THAT VERY MINUTE and blog about it. But I totally thought of you, because I knew you were doing the same happy dance at your house across town.

  11. lisa-marie says:

    Oh, she is so adorable!!

  12. Alex says:

I love that the wiminz made it to the Biggest Loser final. Ali is my new weight loss hero, no lie. I have to admit I’m sort of surprised Kelly is still around, much less in the finals, but am thrilled for her just the same.

I want Mark to be in the finals ONLY because I feel like Ali (or maybe Kelli? Who knows, she’s come this far) has a better chance of beating him, and I’d REALLY like to see a woman win this year.

  13. Jenny H. says:

Toddler crack is not to be taken lightly!

Mine got cookies after t-ball practice last night. I won’t mention what time they went to bed. Finally.

And she is adorable. But you already knew that:)

  14. Marlene says:

So happy for Kelli and Ali.
I hate both of the boys because they were just mean earlier in the season. Mark drives me crazy with all the damn crying already. But, I guess I want him to come back so that a girl can WIN!!

  15. WendyB says:

Biggest Loser was so great last night!!! I was big time crying! I am going to vote for Mark becasue I really want a female Biggest Loser and think Ali and Kelli have a better chance to be that with Mark instead of Roger. Can’t wait for next week!

  16. Shelly says:

I remember having days like that with my daughter. So much fun!!

I loved Biggest Loser last night. Maybe a woman will win this year. Also, totally off topic, but I’d give a kidney or something to have arms & shoulders like Ali. You know, without all the exercise & weightlifting & stuff on my part.

  17. mama speak says:

My youngest is in that mood every. single. day. Like you said it’s fun for like 17 seconds and then it’s just exhausting. In our house the new thing is to take things like keys and phones off the counter and hide them or if caught in the act, at least run away, putting them down your shirt and dive into the play tent. Lots of giggling, but man I’m tired. Perhaps we could fly them to an old folks home together where they could work over the seniors for quarters. It’s about time they started earning thier keep don’ t you think?

  18. Katy says:

Oh I can’t wait for Meghan to get like that. She’s almost as bad now, just without the full sentences.

  19. Karin says:

I cried over Biggest Loser, too, although I had to finish watching it today because I fell asleep after all the television I had to watch last night. I really hope one of the girls win! So awesome!

  20. Heather says:

Haha sounds pretty cute! I’d probably have taken her if you offered ;) (And then hunted you down to return her later on heh.)

  21. Violet says:

My daughter is at the same stage – saying “hi” to everyone. It’s worst in restaurants, she leans over the booths and stares and smiles at them until they notice her and say something back. No matter HOW long it takes. Especially if they are scary – look like convicted felons or bouncers or bikers with 20 tattoos. And they always look really surprised that this tiny girl is so interested in talking to them.

And I would definitely vote for Mark, if I could ever remember to do it! How much more weight could he lose? He seems almost underweight as it is, but Roger has some to go. And I SOOO want one of the women to win!

  22. Jules says:

The quarter thing was too cute. I remember when my girls were little like that they always got a lot of attention when we went out.

I am SO happy that Alli and Kelli are going to be in the finale/ i hope Mark wins the viewer vote because then one of the girls will actually have a chance of winning it all. If Roger gets picked it’s all over for the girls :(

  23. Cassie says:

I have to comment on your biggest loser comment… I cried too. I am SO damn proud of those ladies. I can’t wait til tomorrow night to see the finale. Either of them winning would be good with me!

I also agree that it’s so cute that NikkiZ got a quarter. That’s really cute, and probably one of my biggest reasons why I love old people. (Gah, how bad does THAT sound?) But, really, old people are the coolest.

  24. ladybug says:

My reply when she’s adorable to strangers and driving me nuts at the same time and they’re going ga-ga over her: Live with her.

When do the terrible-twos end? Oh, yeah, when they’re 23.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
