Let’s Go Fly A Kite

I’ve been trying to explain to everyone how NikkiZ flew kites yesterday. We kept trying to get her to run with the kite and hold her arm up in the air, but she would always hold the WRONG ARM up. I was labeling my pictures from yesterday this morning and even tagged all the photos with her doing this “armraised” so that you could see the evidence. But – It’s just not as funny unless you were there with us trying to get her to understand the point of raising your arm. Which is to raise the kite arm.

Luckily, I saw this morning that my wonderful son caught some of it on video. Notice how, as we try to convince her that we mean for her to raise the other arm, she goes to put the kite in the other arm first, defeating the whole point.

Also – let me apologize in advance for my horrible screaming voice. Make sure the volume is not turned up too loud on your computer or you may scare anyone around you.

I don’t think I’ve laughed in several days, due to the hell that is our household at current, but OHMYGOD, that was the cutest thing EVAH.

Oh my goodness, this is adorable! She falls and the first thing she does is make sure her arm is back up in the air. Super cute!

We often forget that the camera has to stay in landscape position when shooting video. Glad to see we aren’t the only ones!

Freaking adorable! I would have told her to just lift both arms. And that would have been stupid because look what we would have missed.

That is so cute! The pics are great, too. I love the one with Elmo “chasing” her.

I love how she ran with the other hand hand up. Soo cute!

My grandpa use to make me so mad when I was little. He would tell me to GO FLY A KITE…instead of telling us to go entertain ourselves…and I would tell my mom later that he made me mad because I didn’t have a kite to go fly.

She’s really reaching for the sky, albeit with the wrong arm! And she looks like she’s having a blast even with all the stage direction and kite non-flying:-)

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
