Oh, this post makes me so jealous. The nearest Target is 30 minutes away, and it’s not a Super Target.

Ooooooh, I wish we had a super target. I have to settle for normal Target, which already has my undying love and devotion. So many pretty, pretty things! Such bargain prices! Seriously – contact lens solution that is $7 at CVS/Walgreens is only $2.44 at Target. That is insane.

I love SUper Target too, but the problem is I always end up buying far too many things that, inside the Super Target, I am convinced that I really, really need… like a Ped Egg and glitter gel pens and different types of shampoos and jelly bellies and random no-particular-reason toys for the kids! Hmm,,, maybe they have some sort of hypnotizing white noise playing over the intercom in there???

SuperTarget! Some people, when they feel they are spending too much money on cr*p, cut up their credit cards. I just ban myself from SuperTarget.

Something about your last sentence made me think of the Tom Cruise/Brooke Sheilds/Matt Lauer brewhaha. I think the Scientologists would definitely approve of your Target coping mechanism : ) hee hee!

Also, I can relate to the wonderful feeling that comes from finding clothes with prices reduced so much that they’re practically free. That happened to me last week at Walmart. I found a dress for $3 – an adult-sized dress, mind you. And, it was work appropriate! Crazy. My problem is that I wore it to work, and then every time someone complimented me, I felt compelled to tell them that “It was $3! At WALMART!” I know I’d have been much cooler if I’d just said “thanks,” but I couldn’t stop myself.

Target is the best! We don’t have a Super Target, though.

I took my son shopping for a birthday present for his soon-to-be baby sister. I felt it was important that he buy her a gift rather than receive something, but then he was seven at the time and NikkiZ is two. It wasn’t anything extravagant or special. I think it was something I was planning on buying anyway.

I also made sure he understood that it was her birthday, not his, and everybody would be bringing her presents for her birthday. If anyone asked, I asked that they not bring him gifts. Some did anyway. I wanted him to understand that it was about her.
