Mondays Redefined By Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Category: Randomly |

Mondays are not as painful to me when I’m on maternity leave as they were when I was working full time. I wake up as early (or earlier - thank you AndyZ for the 4:45 wakeup call. It was much appreciated.) but I get more time to lounge about and get moving. So, the weekend activities don’t haunt me as much.

However…they still suck donkey balls. And I wanted to make sure that I went on record saying that. I don’t know if it was the 3+ hours sleep Friday night or what, but this weekend wore me OUT. Of course, I might should blame Joss Whedon and not the adorable boy I gave birth to six weeks ago.

As it is - I turn on the TV when it’s feeding time for AndyZ throughout the night. No biggie there. I’ve been doing that for six weeks. Unfortunately, I’m staying up much longer than the length of a typical feeding session because the TV I’m watching is SO DAMN GOOD. This is all Joss Whedon’s fault as I’m currently addicted to Buffy (I’m watching season 3 on DVD) and Angel (I’m in the middle of Season 2 that I watch on TiVo) and can’t seem to turn off an episode until it’s OVER. So, my 30-minute wake-up nursing calls in the middle of the night turn into hour-long episodes.

See? Not my fault I’m tired. It’s all Joss Whedon’s fault. And possibly YOUR fault for telling me how I should give Buffy and Angel a chance. (I’m done with Firefly by the way. AWESOME.) I’m not sure which of you said it first, so I’m going to blame ALL OF YOU. And also? What do I do when I finish Season 3? I asked for Season 4+ for my birthday which is not for two weeks. What will I do for those two weeks? I WILL GO CRAZY. That is what I will do.

Joss Whedon - making life with an infant not yet sleeping through the night much more difficult than it should be.

I’m betting that’s a review he never expected.

If it helps any, I was up at 4:45 as well. But no baby to blame, and I was up late watching season 3 of Weeds. Again no baby to blame.

Wait until you see some of the eppies. OH MY WORD!! I say you get your birthday present early! Or check netflix and see if you can watch eppies online. :)

if it makes you feel any better, and I highly doubt it will but, I get up for work at 4:45am everyday.

I’m just getting my boyfriend into watching Angel now… we’re also in the middle of season 2 on TiVo. I had seen from the end of season 2 until the end before (although not when first run), but he hadn’t seen any of it.

I don’t know if you would have room on your TiVo to save the Angels for a while, but if you can catch up through Buffy season 5 and then watch that season on simultaneously with Angel season 2 (and the future seasons together), there’s some cross-over, overlap stuff. Nothing crucial… mostly just that there’s some inside jokes you might miss otherwise.

Love! that you “might should”. One doesn’t read that often. I’m sure you hear it all the time, but the only times I hear it are out of my own mouth. And the people around me stare. Apparently Coloradans don’t might should anything.

Like Stephanie said, watching them in their original order makes some things more clear. And funnier. But totally not necessary since both shows rock on their own.

My current TV addictions are WITHOUT A TRACE and CROSSING JORDAN. No need to thank me.

Oh my gosh, I totally know where you’re coming from with this one. ESPECIALLY with the Joss Whedon shows. So hard to resist.

Netflix. Rent the seasons on Netflix. Much cheaper and quicker!

I’m glad you liked Firefly. I was totally going to recommend it. Have you seen the movie, Serenity, they made from it? It’s also pretty good. And another one you should add to your Netflix queue.

Oh, Season Three of Buffy is my favorite season of any TV show EVER. I am so jealous that you are getting to watch it for the first time. It is SO worth staying up late for!

The last season of Buffy was on when my son was a newborn. I remember staying up late and watching it on our DVR.

I heart buffy and angel. We have so much in common zoot. I wonder if I will be like you and my third child will be a boy. I’m only 6 weeks though. :D

I know, I know! Sorry! Also: not sorry!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything that Joss has ever done. I’m so glad that you are feeling the Whedon love. I just lent my season 1 & 2 Buffy dvd’s to a friend and she returned them saying it was too scary to watch. It just about broke my heart. I want the whole world to love Buffy just as much as I do!

Sorry it’s been keeping you from sleeping, though!

I don’t know if you get the FX channel, but they play a Buffy episode every Saturday and Sunday at 7am. They play them in order, too. I’m pretty sure they are on Season 3, too. So by the time you’re ready for season 4, they should be starting on it too, and you could Tivo them. I’m not positive, because I haven’t been watching it. I’ve seen every episode about 50 times, so I took a break. lol. But yeah… I think they are on the Faith, Hope & Trick episode. Maybe that helped. lol. If not I just rambled on forever about nothing. lol.

  13. Shawna Says:

Dude, I’m in the exact same boat with The OC on DVD.

  14. Colleen Says:

Are you buying all the seasons?

I’d be happy to mail you mine as a loner.
I have all of the seasons of Buffy and Angel.

  15. Moogie Says:

Oh man I hate that. I don’t do it so much anymore because by the time the kids are in bed, I’m ready to follow them. But like you, I would do the same with the girls when I would feed them. I’m kind of afraid to try any of these because I might just get into the habit of staying up late again.

Wait until you get to Season 5. It’s the best!
