Happy 4th!

I just spent my holiday morning raiding the 75% off rack in the $1.00 section at Target. That stuff was only .25! Can you believe it? What better way to spend holiday than filling up a buggy full of crap you don’t need and only paying $5.00 for it all? NOTHING IS BETTER. I assure you.

We will be heading out to Bridge Street for fireworks and music tonight. If you live in Huntsville, you should join us! MrZ’s Dad (who NikkiZ affectionately calls “DamPaw”) will be performing before the fireworks so we will be there for the whole thing. NikkiZ has star sunglasses and flag bandana to wear. I may be a bleeding heart liberal – but I’m also quite patriotic. Two things some people like to pretend can’t exist in one person. I love this country, that’s why I’m so politically opinionated. I want us to be the best we can be.

I hope you have a great holiday and have someplace you can go light sparklers and sing along with Lee Greenwood. That is what the holiday is all about, right?

I grew up listening to Lee Greenwood in the car with my mom. I never get tired of hearing “God Bless the USA”. Have a fun 4th!

I hope you have a wonderful time. My little bro (um, little meaning 24…or 25?) works at Barnes and Noble, and he’s moving to the new Bridge Street location. He says it’s super nice there. It’s been so long since I’ve been home that I haven’t even seen this completed yet!!!

Also, I’m writing my 4th of July post, and I wanted to quote you on my blog. Of course, I’m including all links to you and stuff, I just wanted to make sure it was OK with you (am I making too big a deal out of this? It’s not a weird quote or something, just the thing about being a liberal and patriotic).

Happy 4th!! I just ate a TON of food and am now at home to make sure kitties don’t freak out over fireworks!

Remember- Dissent is the highest form of patriotism! I love to throw this T. Jefferson quote out when my dad accuses liberals of having a problem with the “stay the course” plan.

A belated happy 4th to you.

  13. Moogie says:

Oooh, I love the Target “sales” like that. I end up getting so much stuff. I hope you had a wonderful time. We did fireworks at home at it was really nice. We had lots of kids and adults from the neighborhood come and watch.

  14. ladybughugs says:

Our fireworks got rained out. Rescheduled for the 19th. I hope Lil’bug likes them. Scout cowered under the chair with his ears covered. We actually bought him the ear protectors that gun enthusiasts use to muffle the noise.

My mom lives in Huntsville and I envy your Super Target. It’s truly Super. My sister and I also have Huntsville Costco envy. How is it that there’s never anyone in your store?

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
