My life is incredibly boring.

Sorry for my absence, it seems the world is working against me in the form of technological revolt. My cell phone is still broken in half and the attempt to upgrade to a better phone failed. A few times. I have fried two DVD players the last few weeks and last week? Our main computer bit the dust. We don’t think it’s a hard-drive, so we’ll hopefully be able to save the data. But still – computer DEAD. We have laptops we can use, but they are not as convenient for a variety of reasons I won’t bore you with.

I go back to work in one week so I’m trying to wrap up a few things and spend good quality time with the kids this week. LilZ starts 8th grade on Wednesday, so I only have two days left home with him. I’m also trying to get the house clean since once I start back to work, I’m betting the vacuumed will not be touched until sometime in early 2009.

I’m also redesigning this website. I’ve just not had the time to follow-thru with several things on the page that lay dormant so I feel they should be removed. I also am due for a new masthead, possibly one that says something about HOW FREAKIN’ TIRED I STILL AM.

All of these above tidbits combine to explain why my posting has been slow/absent. By the end of this week, I’ll be back on the writing at night, posting in morning schedule. Hopefully with a new design and a whole lot of bitching about dead computers.

In the meantime – let me know if there’s anything that has annoyed you about this design so I can try to eliminate that with the next version.

Ugh. I feel ya’. Today is the third time in two weeks someone’s coming out to fix the AC, and my laptop is possibly dying a slow, painful death.

Yes, but did you read Breaking Dawn yet? Ohmygoddidyoureadit??!? DIDYOU?!

I always like the design of your website! Every time you change it, it just gets better and better! I am so impressed that you have the motivation to work on it with a toddler and a new(ish)born. Awesome!

Boring yet oh so busy!! Can’t wait to see the new design!

I’ve found that the easiest way to get a new cell phone without a lot of hassle is to go to the manufacterer’s web site & buy direct.
For me, Motorola shipped the phone out, I put my sim card in & no hassle.

Sounds like your having a bad technology week. I know how it feels I think my processor is going to bust soon. It groans at me continually. Not a good sign.

    Take it steady . x

Aww poor you. Why is it that everything ALWAYS dies at the same time??

I love the site! im usually really fussy, but i cant see anything that i would change design-wise. It works great!

Looking foward to seeing the new look.

Let me commiserate with you about dying technology!
Last week we had a really bad thunderstorm pass through. It claimed the life of one 19 in. TV, a DVD/VCR combo, and…wait for it…MY 80 HOUR DUAL TUNER TIVO!
All 3 were in separate rooms, on surge protectors. Talk about bad luck.

I always look forward to your redesigns!

  10. I’m going to try to do something different with mine, too. Not too different, as I still know squat about wordpress other than how to change an already existing template. But mastheads, I can do. I really need to re-do my Myspace more than anything.

Good luck with all the … stuff. Everything breaks at once; I know how that is.

I have to say, I’m glad to see that you are actually human – you are a regular posting machine even through your busy times – I’m always envious.

Turns out, alcohol, lakes and cell phones don’t mix too well as I decided to swim with mine in my pocket – so I understand dead cell phones and our laptop hard drive crashed yesterday too. Parallel lives, minus the small children thing:)

  12. Maria says:

Actually the only thing that has bothered me is that I miss you. Odd, but true. Hang in there and I hope things get easier for you.

Sounds like you have a lot going on- it’s the time of year as well. Everyone I know is rushing right now- to get this done or that ready and all the while, exhausted. I feel like I am 78 sometimes and not 27! :) Hang in there and I hope you have a good week! Love the design- no tweaks from me.

  14. Becca says:

Damn technology! How did we ever survive before we didn’t even HAVE cellphones? I’ll never know.

  15. Jessica says:

I’m such a dork that I immediately starting going: Computer’s dead? Dead how? Won’t turn on? Turns on but beeps? There’s ways to tell if your hard drive did fail (if it will turn on, you can feel the hard drive spinning.) If it is good, you can get a little gadget that makes regular hard drives into USB drives to recover data. Ok, I’ll stop trying to remote diagnose your computer. :)

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
