It Starts Tonight…
Category: T.V. Junkie |

I’m considering tonight the beginning of the FALL TV Season because my late-to-catch onto fave Greek returns to ABC Family. I didn’t start watching it until after the writer’s strike ended and I loved it so much I bought the first half of the season on DVD to watch this summer. I’m so happy it’s returning.

Next week brings back Gossip Girl (What?), American’s Next Top Model (Which I don’t always watch, depends on how the cast rubs me the first few episodes.), and Bones. I’m thrilled to watch Bones this season because since last season, I’ve watched all of Buffy and Angel so I have this new-found love of David Boreanaz. (Who I adored before, for the record.)

There are a few new shows I’m planning on giving a try, with the first being Raising the Bar on TNT. It doesn’t really look like my kind of show, but I have to give it a try because the long-haired Zack (I’m sure he hates still being called that) from Saved by the Bell hypnotizes me every time he comes on screen. I’m also going to give the new Christian Slater show a try, because I have this unstoppable drive to give everything he tries a chance since I fell in love with him as HHH in Pump Up The Volume.

What shows are you looking forward to returning? What new shows are you going to try?

I cannot WAIT for the return of NCIS. I am Dork Personified, apparently. But I can’t wait to see what happens to the crew now that Director Shepard is (unbelievably!) gone. Also (mumbling now) The Girls Next Door.

I also can’t wait for How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. Monday nights in our house are strictly park-on-couch time in the fall!

I love Greek! But I’ll have to catch it online - no cable. :( Can’t wait for HIMYM, too.

I loved Christian Slater in Pump up the Volume too and in Heathers. Oh wow what a gorgeous guy! Imagine if we’d had know then that the world wide web was just around the corner bringing with it a communication revolution. I still think radio rocks tho.

did you blog eat yoru guily post? I read it earlier, but couldn’t comment then and now I wanted to comment. I’m a nerd.

Anyhow - I cannot wait for that Christian Slater show - It looks SO GOOD. I hope it lives up to my expectations! I’m also really anxiously awaiting the return of My Name is Earl, Californication (showtime show - SO GOOD!) and that new one Kath and Kim, but that’s not till October. It looks a little dumb, but i <3 Teh Dumb. :)

Can’t wait for Gossip Girl… it’s just so pretty and sparkly. 90210 without the goodie two shoes. Everyone is bad.

The Christian Slater thing looks interesting but I’m afraid it will have the curse that comes with being the most promoted show out there. Every year NBC creates a great/expensive show (ala Sunset Strip) and promotes the hell out of it and it almost always gets canceled. The biggest hits seem to be the ones that they sneak in without advertising.

Please tell me you watch The Office…funniest show on tv. I also can’t wait for Heroes, Pushing Daisies, and Desperate Housewives to return. Oh yea…..and Biggest Loser. I’m a little too excited about the fall line-up!

  7. Tracy Says:

The Office - stinking writers strike really messed me up last year and I am Jones’n bigtime for The Office to return.

My sister told me that I would love the show “How to Look Good Naked”, and I thought it would be just another cheesy realty show. I watched it on Comcast On Demand last night and it made me tear up! It’s amazing how transformed this woman was after only a few days. I will be watching a few more of these episodes and unless it gets monotonous (as some realty shows do), I think it might be my favorite realty show ever!

I’m so excited about new TV that I may end up piddling like Tonks does when she’s excited. Old shows I’m thrilled about? Hmmm. Chuck. Pushing Daisies. Sarah Conner Chronicles. House. Pretty much I’ve got ‘em all covered.

As far as new shows? FRINGE! A show by JJ Ambrams with Joshua Jackson AKA Dawson’s Creek’s PACEY??? Hells yeah.

I love ANTM. Did you hear there’ll be a transgender model on this season?!

The shows I can’t wait for: The Office, Lipstick Jungle, and 30 Rock.

OH my gosh I had no idea Greek was back on tonight-thank God you said something!

We love House, Bones, Greek, and I’ve totally gone blank for more. I know there are several new shows we are excited about-there’s some new sci fi one coming out, and the Fringe one someone else mentioned. Hopefully there will be some funny new half-hour sitcoms, I’m kind of tired of all these silly reality shows. Wanting a funny half-hour show with good writing again!

My list of television loves is long…America’s Next Top Model, NCIS, Army Wives, House, Boston Legal, Stargate Atlantis, Eureka, So You Think You Can Dance, American Idol, Ugly Betty, and the list goes on.

No wonder I never seem to accomplish much around the house!

  13. jessica Says:

OH Heroes! HOW COULD I FORGET!!!! Milo whateverthehellyourlastnameis, I <3 you.

  14. Maria Says:

I recently started watching the Bones re-runs.

I have Raising the Bar on my watch list too. Saving Grace, The Closer, Monk, In Plain Sight, Psych, Gene Simmons Family Jewels and “new” re-runs on TNT/TBS/A&E are on my return watch list. I tend to stick to the TNT, TBS, USA, and A&E networks because they are good company when I can’t sleep.

I KNEW there was a reason I loved you!! :) I am SO EXCITED for the new season of Bones. I also heart David B. Sigh. What a hottie. I liked him way better in the later seasons of Angel with Cordy than with Buffy.

I ALSO am so excited for Raising the Bar because of Zack. I watch Saved by the Bell every morning at the gym. I have a whole little section of the “100 things” I’m working on for my blog devoted to my first tv crush. :)

Pretty excited for the new season of Grey’s — want to see how they make it still interesting since Meredith and Derek are going to be “together forever” now.

Let’s see… we also watch Brothers and Sisters religiously, and I’ve read that since his whole “cheating on his wife with Sienna Miller” thing, Balthazar Getty’s role has dwindled quite a bit — I don’t know if that was the plan all along or if the producers are punishing him or whatever. Will be interesting to see. Dave Annable is pretty freakin’ hot too.

So. That’s my “crap I DVR religiously” listing. :) You should check out Brothers and Sisters — sunday nights on ABC! :)

Amen about Christian Slater. I’m going to give that show a try too. I just started watching all the Bones reruns on TNT and now can’t wait for the new season and it’s in LONDON. Love! I’m really excited about Alan Ball’s new HBO show True Blood, mostly because I’ve read all the Charlaine Harris books the show is based on.

I don’t want to “wish my life away” as my grandma used to say but I’m ready for September and some new tv.

  17. Lisa Says:

I agree about the Christian Slater show, looks pretty good.
For new shows I am anxious to see Fringe and Rock of Love- Charm School. heh. Love those trashy girls!

Returning shows: House, Survivor, Amazing Race, Criminal Minds, Kitchen Nightmares, Nip/Tuck, and Cold Case.

I’m sure there are more but I can’t think of them off the top of my head.

  18. Z Says:

No!!! No no no!!! Greek is TONIGHT?!?! The one night this week I can’t be at home, curled up in my PJs, enjoying it??? NO!!! (I thought it was next week… Well, actually, I was convinced that this week was last week, if that makes sense.)

But - yeah - so happy for the return of “good” TV!

  19. Sarah Says:

I really like Chuck and Pushing Daisies. Of course, the two shows I’m really looking forward to don’t come on until January - 24 and Lost. Bummer!

  20. Sherry Says:

The Big Bang Theory, Back to You, The Amazing Race and possibly Survivor.

  21. Melanie Says:

Zach! Thank you for answering that question, I knew he looked familiar and couldn’t place him.
I don’t know what we will be watching, the hubby will be home and we don’t like many of the same shows, except HIMYM and 2.5 Men. I need to find him a hobby so I can watch some new fun things.

  22. stacey Says:

ANTM, Scrubs, HIMYM, Big Bang. New ones? I am going to try the Christian Slater one because he is awesome. Probably that new Jay Mohr one as well. Not sure what else yet….

  23. Erin Says:

I have to check out Raising the Bar b/c of Mark Paul Gosselar as well! I keep seeing it advertised during the Closer, which I LOVE.

  24. Fraulein N Says:

Ooh, “Bones” is back NEXT week? I didn’t catch the end of the promo because a certain poo-poo head who shall remain nameless changed the channel. I’ll probably catch “Raising the Bar” by mistake; Zack’s hair makes me laugh every time I see the promos. I wasn’t sure it was him at first, which is maybe what he’s going for. If it looks good I’ll probably be hooked.

I’m most excited about “Pushing Daisies,” which returns Oct. 1. I also can’t wait to check out “Fringe.”

  25. plastic nico Says:

buffy > all wb shows ever. even gilmore. which is a close second.
