MrZ just called me and said that AndyZ fell asleep in the excersaucer watching Headbanger’s Ball. I left him with MrZ so that I could use the computer at my office to edit some photos (ours is still in the shop) and MrZ took the chance to expose our son to some of his music. Evidently my music is lame. AndyZ thought his music was pretty boring, as evidenced by his nap. Therefore I win. HA!
The necklace I ordered from Moppet’s Closets came in the other day and I am as in love with it as I hoped. She stamped the coordinates to my favorite building on it for me. It’s the place I discovered my love for Geography and Maps, my husband, and the building we named our son after. It holds fond memories and has a special place in my heart. What better way to commemorate that than with a necklace stamped with the coordinates? It turned out beautifully. It is the third necklace I’ve ordered, and won’t be my last. Although I think I’ll get a bracelet next time.

That’s a gorgeous necklace! Thanks for the link to the shop- I may have to order something from there.
I am a total lurker here, by the way, but you have inspired me to spend November increasing my commenting on blogs I read from ~1 comment/3 months to at least 1/day.
Aww, the story behind that necklace is so sweet.
As a geocacher, I knew immediately that those were coordinates – and that is a great idea for a necklace. And, yes, thank you for the shop – now I am going to buy something there as well!
I’m into geocaching too and I have the coordinates for several of my favorite places saved on my GPS unit. I love the necklace! I might have to get one if I can choose which place to put on it.
Love the goals you’ve set for yourself. And the necklace is gorgeous… now you’ve got me perusing that site as well!
oh wow that necklace is very cool. what a GREAT idea. so smart.
Great photo
I love the necklace, too! I am going to get one that has the coordinates of my alma mater, that is also my husband’s, and both of my kids are going there as well. Really, really cool.
From one geek to another, I love the coordiantes.
That is really awesome! What a great idea.
It is beautiful.
This summer, my volleyball team chose symbols and other goofy things for the back of our shirts instead of a single number. My “name” was an inside joke from a vacation in Key West, so my number was the coordinates for the house we stayed in while we were there.
Love that necklace. Moppets Closet rocks! I have the butterfly … if nothing ever changed … necklace.
Where were you a month ago? I desperately was trying to find a jeweler able to do something like this for an anniversary gift for my husband, but everything I found was uber-girlie OR overly manly (think dog tags). Her little silver disks are perfect. I think I see a Christmas present…
Just gotta say…AndyZ is lucky you fell in love there, and not MY OWN favorite college building Plantz Hall. Oh, yes.
I love the idea of putting coordinates on jewelry. What a neat way of commemorating a special place.
What an absolutely beautiful necklace – made even more beautiful by the sentiment behind it. Wow. I totally want one.
