In Case You’re Sad

I’ve read quite a few of sad posts in the last few days. Sad news, sad moods, sad, sad, sad. It’s that time of year – The holidays are passed, cold has come, the noses are running and the skies are gray. And then, it just seems, bad new abounds. Layoffs, illness, and tragically I’ve read about several too-soon deaths. My friends are sad and there’s nothing I can do or say to really make it better for anyone.

So…I’m going to put up a funny picture. It probably won’t make the stress or hurt or anxiety go away, but if you’re feeling down? Maybe it will make you smile.

that is adorable…will make anyone smile! :)

  2. I was feeling pretty down in the dumps last week, emotionally… and feeling pretty crappy, physically, too after being in a car accident. The medication they gave me made me super-sleeping, and I was passing out on the couch for hours every afternoon, feeling like a lazy waste of life. One afternoon, my attention hog cat got fed up with it and decided to take a nap… on my face. I was so zonked out I didn’t even notice. Joel took a picture of it and showed me when I woke up, and I swear… it made me laugh so hard that I immediately started feeling better.

Sometimes you just need a funny cat picture, and Sunflower seems to understand that perfectly :)

  4. I seriously just published a semi-sad post. This picture is adorable!

  5. I haven’t been blogging much because it seemed like all I had was sad news and the thought of typing it out was almost more depressing than living it. I’m not glad to know others aren’t faring well, but glad I’m not alone.

I love when cats use us as furniture. Well, sometimes. ;)

Cats rock! Our dogs would just stick their cold wet noses into the sleepy baby’s face and make her wake up sobbing…

I think it’s very kind of you to put up a photo to cheer everybody up, but as it says on the box this is a “kind” blog. Which is why I keep returning because you have such a beautiful take on life.

After a hard end to last year with lot’s of frightening things happening one after another I hope “the fates” will leave me alone for a while and this January finds me quitely but poistively optomistic for 2009. ( Ok fates please don’t rush at me all at once to give me a good kicking).

OMG, and the little bare baby foot coming out from under the cat.

Hi. I’m Kim.

This is my blog that I've been writing on since January, 2004. I call myself Zoot as it's a derivative of an old childhood nickname. I used to write about my struggles to have children, but eventually I succeeded and now, I write a lot about those kids. I don't use my kid's exact names simply because if someone Googles their very unique names in the future, I don't want them stumbling upon my entries about boobsweat. I mean, would you hire someone whose Mom writes openly about such topics? NO. YOU WOULD NOT.

I love taking pictures and carry my camera (almost) everywhere I go. This means you'll see a lot of photos on this site. I also periodically post recipes I like as I've been slowly (but surely) learning to cook and I like to share my discoveries. Finally? I'm an annoying pop culture fanatic so I'll periodically ramble about Hunger Games or the latest Parks and Recreation.

I hope you like it here. If not? Please don't tell me. I cry easily.
